This is a great place for bbq. I did not expect the large portions and and delicious food but that is what I got. I highly recommend this place for a great meal. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, she made us feel welcome. The location had room but the decor could use some work. It is one of the best bbq joints that I have been to in the area. If you get the nachos, make sure you have someone to share them with.

Me and my wife visited this place on vacation hoping to get some good brisket.. well that wasn’t exactly the case, it would have been decent if the food was hot.. but unfortunately it was not maybe a hundred degrees at best, we both got the sausage sampler platter that was on special it came with a sausage link two meats and two sides.. the sausage link was cold the brisket was cold and the chicken was cold.. the beans and the barbecue sauce tasted like nothing but overpowering cumin and had a chili vibe.. the brisket could have been decent if it was hot as well as the chicken but however it did not have a smoke flavor to it or a smoke ring.. but yes I have a humongous smoker outside blowing out smoke as you walk in.. the waitress asked how our food was I gave her my honest opinion there was no mention of a discount or anything like that just a simple apology and still paid full price.. if you like cold barbecue this is a pretty fairly priced place but that’s about all I can say.. the service was not that great considering a different person brought our food than our server also they did not bring out all of the sides, our server showed up about 3 minutes after we got our food asking how everything was… This place has potential but unfortunately they don’t reach for it it seems.. this review was written the following day and both of our stomachs were hurting when we woke up.. I really wanted this to be a good review for them but as you all know I’m a very honest reviewer so I have to be honest.. and on top of that we drove 45 minutes out of the way to get to this place and all to be disappointed

My wife and I for lunch at noon. We wanted BBQ, but they only offer Thursday, Friday and Saturday this time of year. But the BBQ aroma in the Hogpen side of the restaurant was so awesome that I was sad I couldn’t try it. This is a BBQ restaurant on one side and Gary’s oysters on the other. We were greeted and seated on the Oyster side. All staff we encountered were gracious. I ordered 10 smoked Wings with Jalapeño slaw and house salad for sides. My wife ordered Prime Rib Quesadilla with Jalapeño slaw. The entire order was very good. The house seasoning and Sauce on the table were both hits. Monica, our server, took good care of us. We live 1.5 hours away but we’ll make it a point to come back for BBQ.

This place has amazing food but never has it avaliable. Came here once in January and it was perfect then came by 3 times after and they never have the BBQ. I called before coming in to make sure that they had pork and after I ordered she came back saying no pulled pork was avaliable. So moral of the story dont come here for the BBQ ♀️

Did an online pickup order for 4 meals, got home and there were only 3 meals. Receipt online shows 4 meals but actual receipt showed 3. They charged full price of 4 meals. Online showed meals $13, but we were charged $15.Food was tasty but brisket and pulled pork were more on the dry side. Good portions. May try again but do as eat in.

These guys must have a lot of friends because there’s no way anybody could eat this and be like yup 5 stars! Dry, 0 smoke, straight out of the microwave to your plate!
Could get a Weber from Walmart and smoke in the parking lot and serve something better, they didn’t even try. Service was okay.

After reading the reviews we wanted to love this place. However we were terribly disappointed. It was not busy, it was 6pm, and there should have been no problems in the kitchen. Our food came out cold, and we had to ask for our sides as they were not on our plate. When our sides came out the beans were colder than the brisket. The waitress even blames the “new” cook for our food being cold and offered to take it back and heat it up (which would have only dried up the brisket). Through all of this they never even offered a discount just brought us a bill for over $80. I will never return to this restaurant and I wish anyone who chooses to go after this review has a much better experience than we did.

Went there today after searching for best bbq in pnc. Was well worth the drive, from where we were staying! We ordered a (3) meat plate; ribs, moist brisket and pulled pork. Garnish of picked red onions and pickles. We also ordered a loaded baked potato and baked beans and I must say I would order again in a heartbeat! Plenty for two but you may fight over the ribs and brisket! Hunt’s Oyster bar is always a stopover and now this will be a regular as well!

Best BBQ in Bay County! If you haven’t been to this place yet, you need to check it out. Service is perfect, food comes out fast. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich, I had the pulled pork stuffed baked potato and 1 rib. The ribs are perfectly juicy and fall right off the bone. Dont even need sauce on those ribs because they are seasoned perfectly! It doesn’t hurt that you can order amazing seafood from Gary’s at the same time for a nice surf and turf combination! Can’t wait to come back here again!
