Hogan Brothers’ Acoustic Café was opened in Northfield, Minnesota, in October of 1991 by Greg Heymans. After seven years at 405 Division in Northfield, Hogan Brothers’ moved down the street to 415 Division. This doubled the space, allowing room for our in-house bakery and increasing the capacity to serve as many as 1000 customers a day. Hogan Brothers’ specializes in hot hoagie sandwiches, featuring our honey-cracked wheat bread, baked from scratch daily, and our signature special sauce. We offer soup and sandwich specials, and coffee and espresso from Anodyne Roasters. For dessert we offer twelve flavors of ice cream and homemade cookies and rice krispie bars.
Low-key, spacious counter serve featuring overstuffed hoagies, soups, coffee & ice cream.

It’s such a lovely place! It was my first time traveling to Northfield (my husbands hometown) and we had Hogan Brothers sandwich and ice cream! Soooo good! My husband was like: it’s a must do, and now I say the same!
I am an ice cream person and I am very picky it it; this place has one of the best chocolate ice creams I’ve ever had!

Some of the best sandwiches around! Their bread is incredible, and the deli meat high quality. They do the nice thin sliced deli meat and cheese. I love the beer cheese soup as well. Have yet to have a bad sandwich. Affordable too. Staff is always friendly and service is prompt. It can get very busy, but that just shows how good it is. The inside is nice and homey.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and my order was ready to go quickly. Highly recommend! We will be back.

Great place to have a soup and sandwich!
The prices are cheap and there’s a deal of getting a third or half hoagie with a cup of soup! There are several options of soup. They make ordering easy.
Also huge respect for making it just ordering at the front and then getting your food brought to you so you don’t have to get waited on and therefore include a tip. I am a huge advocate against American tipping practice and find it repulsive when establishments don’t pay their waiters a decent base wage like the cooks in the back. I give 5 stars to any sit down restaurant that does it this way.
It’s downtown and easy to walk to!
There’s also an antique shop in the back!? It was a great post-lunch activity
There’s also a cool thing where if you buy and wear one of their shirts and send them a photo of you wearing it in some far away place like Italy, they’ll put your photo up on a board. I love places do fun whimsical things like this.

Amazing hoagies! This sandwich spot is definitely one of the defining features of Northfield, and I always enjoy going and getting lunch. The indoor dining area and atmosphere match the friendly and welcoming small town vibe, and all of the workers are super nice. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Went here at about 6:15 for dinner, as it was my birthday they advertise a free hogie. We entered to see patron enjoying their dinner. We went to the counter and noticed everyone appeared to be cleaning and shutting down. As my family started to place our order, we were informed that they were out of bread. Not sure how this happens at a sandwich shop that makes their own bread, at 6pm dinner time but I guess it does. This appears to either be poor planning or extremely poor management. I will certainly not expect any consistency going forward from this business. Very disappointed. Better places to eat that don’t run out of their main ingredient or what they advertise.

One of my favorite spots to grab a bite! I absolutely love their turkey sandwiches. I stopped by yesterday for some takeout, and everything was perfect. The sandwiches were delicious — definitely a 10 out of 10. All the ingredients are fresh and incredibly tasty!

Enjoyed a warm bowl of Roasted Tomato Basil soup that was pretty delicious. Great lunch spot to grab a hoagie or a pita sandwich. Plenty of seating and the booth/tables are quite charming with high antique ceilings. Orders are brought to you using oversized laminated playing cards.

Very popular place on this Saturday morning, stood in line about 10 minutes and waited 20 minutes for our sandwiches to be brought out.
My roast beef sandwich was very good, a member of the group commented how good the turkey sandwich was also.
Orders of chips are at an additional cost. The young man who brought our food was courteous and promptly refilled my soft drink when I asked. Lots of seating, but it does get full at times, we noticed. I would recommend this venue and will be going back next time we visit Northfield.
