I passed thru Phenix City on my way to PCB and on my way back home I decided to stop in and try some food. I’m glad I did. I’m thinking if I ever act on my food tour – think Triple D & Guy Fieri – then I’m going to sit and try a few things. You know what surprised me? The sauce! I was expecting some kind of thick, smoky, garnet-red BBQ sauce, but what I got was a yellow, spicy & smoky sauce – think mustard with less tang. It’s good! They had the pickles and diced onions on it, and it made me think of a chili dog. I had to look at it again just to be sure. LOL. Y’all! Don’t pass by Hog Rock BBQ. Stop by, walk in, order, and sit and eat. Oh! And if you like sweet tea, then that’s the only drink for this food besides water of course.
I heard from a local that the salads are really good. Guess I’ll see y’all later for one of those too

Me and some friends went here on our way home from Florida back to South Carolina. I know what good BBQ tastes like and this was not it. The woman who took our order was extremely rude when answering questions about the menu. We were also very disappointed when receiving our food and seeing barely any BBQ on the sandwich. I have personally never experienced such bad customer service. I highly recommend going to a different restaurant if you want good food and good service.

Finally got a chance to try this place after passing by it for months. But the excitement quickly died after entering. The place was empty except for one guy in a booth. The girls behind the counter looked up but didnt welcome us in. The place is cute but the ceiling and corners are gross. While waiting somebody who works there Grandma came and brought her a bag, talked to one girl, then went behind the counter to talk to someone else then came back out and talked some more. Very unsanitary and unprofessional. I ordered a rib plate with fries and brunswick stew and waited 15 minutes for the food to come out. The portion of fries were small and didnt even fill up one compartment of the tray. The Brunswick stew had lima beans in it and was like beef vegetable soup And to top it off the ribs were COLD! 15 minutes for cold ribs and hot fries is insane. It’s safe to say we’ll NEVER eat there again.

Im tierd of coming in and getting an attitude because I ordered a larger quantity of food typicly 20 of the 5 for 5s. I am a nice guy and normaly let things go because people have bad days but it has ben every single time I am in this establishment. If you don’t like your job don’t take it out on paying customers. They need to get rid of whoever is taking orders and making sandwiches i will not return until staff has ben replaced.

So. Darn. Delicious! Our family was traveling back from Florida to Missouri and stopped to grab lunch & I’m glad we chose this spot (a gem). A sweet young woman (Savannah) greeted us when we walked in. Their menu was cheap for the portion served . All tables had a hot sauce and BBQ sauce. The restaurant was clean. There were plenty of tables to accommodate the lunch rush. Our kiddos got tenders and fries, my husband got the pork platter, & I got the turkey sandwich. We were all impressed with our food. The ladies working behind the counter were friendly and helpful. This is the kind of spot we need in STL. Way to go Hog Rock! Thank you for the great food and hospitality!!

I tried coming in to get something to eat and they said they were closed. They should not close til 8 on the dot it was 7:55 which I understand but you should not close officially til the time said. I did not like that cause I drove all the way here to get something to eat cause online it said they closed at 8 and I get here and they say they’re closed. I think that’s messed up. If you close at eight close if not then change your times so stuff like this does not happen. I was bush and wanted some food and made it here just in time but they said they were closed and I did not appreciate that.

I drove by this place for years never stopped but today I stopped I wish I hadn’t the girl at the front was rude and the atmosphere was off and the people working their has no greatest what so ever and the chip bbq was terrible don’t chop it so fine sorry just my opinion. Never again

A young lady with long dark brunette hair took our order. Later walked over to assist another lady to prep orders before ours. Their side conversation should have been discussed later on off in the far back. The young cashier lady was ready to go and made it clear to her coworkers that she was leaving when her shift is over regardless of who is late or a no show… she’s going to the gym.
No hair nets ponytails swinging here and there. I wish restaurants would go back to wearing them ASAP. Not sure who was the manager on duty but they all are very unprofessional.

I do not recommend. The workers have nasty mouth and do not have any good customer service. I ordered two salads and had to wait over a hour and when i asked the lady what’s taking so long with my order they got an attitude with me and cursed me out . She said that I want them salads so bad after she made them good luck with eating them. One thing you do not do is play with people food . I should sue them for that comment that was made but I’ll let GOD handle them but i do want to spread the word. DO NOT EAT THERE!!
