I try to look at places off the beaten path when visiting new areas. About a 10 minutes drive south of Bogalusa, this place was worth the drive.
Got a chopped brisket sandwich with a coleslaw topper, baked beans, and fries. The fries could’ve cooked for another 30 seconds or so, the beans were amazing, and the brisket sandwich was exactly what you would expect from a BBQ restaurant. I wasn’t crazy about the bun so if anyone that works there see this, maybe bring it up to look at alternatives. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good. I’ve just had better. Call Hokey’s in Lucedale… They have great bread too.
Service was excellent once they realized I was there to eat and not sell something. I am business sales for AT&T and I look like a salesman, especially when I bring in my iPad to knock out work while I eat. When I first walked in, the lady at the counter seemed like she wasn’t sure why I was there. Once I let her know I was there to eat, she was perfect.
Ambience is nice. Slightly rustic but looks clean.

The ribs, brisket and pulled pork was spot on. Sides were ok, but the meats were the star. Atmosphere was laid back and casual. The service was friendly and attentive.

The 2nd best bbq I’ve ever had in my entire life (the first being Milltown bbq in Bogalusa La)… I fed myself and 2 teen/ preteens off 1lb each pulled brisket and pulled pork for 3 days or so. Paid about $40 altogether for both. Deliciousness !!!

This place is amazing, i dont know where to start its all so good, and everything about this place is worthy of praise. I have eaten here many times over the years and it is consistently excellent in every way! The best bbq in Louisiana! And the bread pudding is the best ive ever had anywhere! Wonderful BBQ right here in Bush! The best cheeseburger around these parts! Smoker out back always cooking something. Brisket the way I like it. And thankfully there’s a ATM right there.

Take note that this place is cash only…..but they will happily point you to their in house ATM machine so you can grab a out of network ATM withdrawal fee along with your cash to pay for your order. I realize card clearing houses charge a fee. Most customers are fine with paying that but this whole ATM thing is just bad optics. Will steer clear of this place.
