Just ate at Hog Heaven today for Sunday lunch. Really good! A lot of variety… Banana pudding is awesome! Half n half tea was really good too. Thank you Pam! Pam was great and very friendly. This place is a fine example of southern comfort food.

We went to Hog Heaven so you don’t have to!!!! Vegetables are poured out of a can without any seasoning or flavor. The mashed potatoes tasted like an ash tray. The pork was roasted and not very tender. BBQ sauce was decent but it is SPICEY!!!! The wait staff only spoke to us to get our drinks (never mind a refill). Seriously just don’t bother.

If you go to Hog Heaven, go for the food — this is a buffet built around comfort and flavor, not fine dining frills. The moment you step up to the steam table you know the kitchen cares about classic Southern cooking done right. The selection is generous and changes enough to keep things interesting, but the real stars are the meats and the sides that were clearly made to complement them.

Pulled pork here is a standout: tender, smoky, and seasoned so that each bite has a balance of savory and slightly sweet notes. It’s moist without being greasy, and the sauce options let you dial the flavor up or down. Fried chicken is another highlight — a crisp, golden crust that gives way to juicy, well-seasoned meat. Both items taste like they were prepared with time and attention rather than rushed through a line.

The buffet’s complimentary sides are more than afterthoughts. Creamy mac and cheese, buttery mashed potatoes with gravy, tangy coleslaw, collard greens, all paired perfectly with the mains. Baked beans added texture and depth, making each plate feel complete. Service was friendly and efficient, keeping trays full and the dining area tidy.

This is a place to come hungry and leave satisfied. If your priority is hearty, well-executed Southern buffet food — especially excellent pulled pork and fried chicken with thoughtful sides — Hog Heaven delivers exactly that.

In the salt-shadow of the marsh grass,
Where the air is thick with the perfume of slow smoke
And a wind from the tide moves like the memory of summers gone—
Here we sit, in the low light of evening,
Among tables and a bar worn smooth by the palms of strangers.

The pulled pork arrives on the buffet, glistening as though in repentance,
Tender shreds collapsing into themselves,
Cradled in the company of stewed vegetables —
Little warm planets adrift in their own gravity of grease.

We speak little;
The hush is not from hunger,
But from the long draw of the smoker’s breath—
A patience of hickory and oak that outlasts
The impatience of modern men.

The fried chicken — golden crisped both juicy and sepulchral—
Cling to the bone like an old truth,
And the Oreo dirt pudding, dark as an August dusk,
Whisper of fields where no one hurries.

Outside, the tide turns.
Somewhere, laughter falls like shells against a dock.
Here, in the slow-moving hour,
We taste the South—
And find it lingers.

Middle of the road but everybody has different taste opinions and this is mine….

The restaurant has a Mom & Pop feel to it which is nice. The staff were all great and seemed genuinely happy which is rare.

The pulled pork was good but in the middle between the best & worse I’d ever had. However, I am in no means a BBQ aficionado. I tried all the sauces and my preference was mixing the mild with the mustard based.

The smoked chicken taste on the other hand was amazingly smokey. You could definitely know it was smoked. Just wish it wasn’t quite so dry. The fried chicken was also dry and tasteless to me.

Most of the sides were not my cup of tea as they were very bland or watery BUT there were some exceptional ones that I could eat everyday! Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese, Stewed Tomatoes & Green Beans. They were all very full of flavor.

On the deserts my preference was the Oreos in Cream Fluff.

I would eat here again if the things I liked were on the buffet because they alone were worth the price despite it being $14 instead of the $11.99 stated on their website.

Really good food served buffet style. Great pulled pork, great fried chicken, great Mac and cheese to mention just a few of the items. Green beans and corn – excellent. Lots of other things to choose from. Desserts too. Banana pudding – delicious. The chocolate desserts were delish too, but we could only manage a few bites after our filling meal. The price was very reasonable. The atmosphere is very simple – but we were there for the food, not the ambiance! Go here – you’ll love it!

We didn’t die and go to Hog Heaven. What a disapoinment!!!! I’ve never been to a BBQ place that had food without some type of seasoning to give it that special taste. All the sides tasted like they were just poured out of the container. Even the fried chicken was plain with no seasoning. The pulled pork was okay. Wasn’t impressed with the sauces. We just stopped in on a whim after I saw the sign and remembered it from an ad or something on Facebook. Upon entry, figured it’s barbecue buffet with lots of people inside, so it had to be good: not. Had no idea of the cost. Turned out, it was appx $14/person; one really gets what one pays for. We hesitantly went for a second-plate trip hoping another sample of something would have a taste other than poured-canned food: nope! The best tasting thing I had was the Oreos and Whipped Cream desert. This was the first bbq place I left not full and satisfied. The rustic side of the road look really played a joke. Recommendations: SEASON THE FOOD and increase the temperature of the food in the buffet trays.

Okay so like where do I start. This place is gross like the rice was horrific it melted in my mouth, and I don’t think rice is supposed to do that plus the chicken has NO chicken the BBQ sauce was really spicy and the peas was terrible like it was trying to be sweet but fails horribly like it was disgusting, also the squash looks like it was a sewage water. There was barely any food there. The pulled pork is slimy and felt like literal sewage, SPEAKING of sewage the bathrooms it had mold in it the toilet water is yellow, and the other toilet was orange and again there was mold on the ceiling above the toilet. The service was terrible barely talked didn’t refill my cup and the cooks were also the waiters and had NO hair net on and there was HAIR on our table and silverware! And towards the end they put all our dirty dishes in a bin which okay I understand but she then asked if she could put it next to me and before I got a chance to say anything, she put it down and started getting other people’s dishes and putting it in by the way I recommend getting the plastic silverware because We actually put the regular silverware the ones that was wrapped in the Napkins in the bin and this woman solid picked it up, wiped it off. It didn’t even do a good job because they were still stuff on it and set it aside on the table. And then, when she collected all the plates, she left the dirty silverware behind. Didn’t even put it in the bin… yall I about PUKED when I saw that The literal health department needs to come over and redo their little visit, cause they do not need to be open. That was disgusting and horrible customer service never in my life have I ever been so cheated badly by a server and that’s saying something because I’ve been to 1 star restaurants before and they were nicer, also there were flys on the food!! also don’t take your kids here it’s not worth it

Stopped here for a late lunch after spending the morning on the beach! Wonderful food and wonderful friendly people! I even got a cute T-shirt! Will definitely be coming here again, especially with the great lunch prices and food availability! 10/10 and will be telling others to stop by and try!

Deeply dislikes this restaurant. The whole place reeks like oysters and it’s nauseating. The food was not great, the only decent thing was the mashed potatoes. One of my party ordered coffee and it was cold so he reordered it and it took over an hour to get another coffee. The Buffett selection was small as well. There are much better options in the area.
