was a 30 minute wait to be seated even though
many tables were not only empty but fully setup for
service. After 30 minutes I asked the two young
hostesses (very young, no real adult running the
place) why we were not being seated. I was told that
the kitchen was running behind and that we couldn’t
be seated until the kitchen caught up. I suggested
that had they seated us we would have most likely
ordered 1 or 2 cocktails by now. Making us happier,
money for the restaurant, and increasing the bill
meaning the waitress would have made a bigger tip.
The response was, sir the kitchen is behind and we
cannot seat anyone until the kitchen tells us too.
PS there was a large table of about 14 people with 1
waitress, poor thing took 3 meals back to the
kitchen because they were wrong.
Ended up leaving and going to Stoneys in East
Beach. Place was full but we were seated
immediately, food was great, will definitely go back
to Stoneys.
I have been going to AW shucks for many years.
Never again !
Very attentive service. Plenty of parking and no wait time at all, for a Friday night. Good, family friendly establishments. It was not too loud either which was really nice to be able to enjoy dinner and company with yelling across the table.
We have always wanted to sit at the bar but never been able to. Hopefully, we never will again. The bartender, who never introduced herself, could not have seemed more annoyed to have customers and spent most of the time talking to the two employees who sat at the end of the bar.
We ordered oysters to start- I’m not convinced they were the right ones but oh well. I had a few questions about the Tomato & Crab Soup and wish I would not have ordered it. It was nothing more than a can of diced tomatoes, a few cans of other vegetables, and some crab meat. Zero flavor. Extremely bland. The Andouille Corn Chowder did not impress us either.
If we are ever back, we will likely only stick to raw bar items. And not sit at the bar.
