Cheap food and good eats, what more could a person want? The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always packed which is a testimony to how good the food is.

The food was awesome. The atmosphere was solid. The service was great, with no complaints all around. The chicken strips were hit and juicy, and the fires were crispy. The chicken sandwich was great juicy, and the buns were soft. The pulled pork was saucy and very good. The jalapeño poppers were surprisingly amazing. The montzerella sticks were solid. Overall, I would come back again, and it is a good recommendation with only a 10 minute wait.

It was my first time visiting Hobo’s establishment. I know this is a really bold statement, but that was by far the best fried chicken I’ve tasted in my lifetime. I do a job that requires me to travel which means I get to try food from all over the place and I would definitely recommend Hobo’s as a must try if you were ever in Saint Peters Missouri. I look forward to my return and getting plate number two.

Packed! Food is classic American style. I read a 2 star review about the chicken not being seasoned but overall I would say this is perfectly seasoned for this type of food. It’s no complex overly done seasoned style of cooking. Simple, great prices, and quality food.

This is definitely on our return visit list. Our server Teresa is amazing. As busy as the dining room was, she kept tabs on us and made sure we were well taken care of. The toasted ravioli was flavorful served with a good sauce. And the deep fried clans were served hot and full of flavor. Fried chicken was perfectly prepared. Too hot to eat when it was brought to the table.
Tender pork steak that you didn’t need a knife. Some of the best pizza around. Thin flavorful crust covered in plenty of toppings. Staff were all friendly and courteous. Willing to help and answer any questions. Highly recommend next time you are in the area.

I had seen a Facebook post about Hobos saying what great food they have, there were photos of the pork tenderloin sandwich and knew I had to try it. I live about an hour away but was in the area with my grandson so we decided to stop for lunch and can say without a doubt it was worth the drive and the wait for a table. While waiting we spoke with a lovely couple who raved about how great the chicken is, they weren’t wrong! My grandson ordered the Mozzarella sticks and the Half Cluck chicken meal, I ordered Freddie the Freeloader, pork tenderloin sandwich and highly recommend it. The service was great, the food was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back! Even if it’s a bit of a drive you should make the trip and try this place!

Hobo’s in St. Peters is a true local favorite and for good reason–the food is consistently fantastic. Their fried chicken is some of the best around: crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned every single time. The pork steaks and ribs are just as impressive, tender and full of that rich, smoky flavor that keeps you coming back for more
And don’t overlook their pizza–seriously t’s outstanding. Great crust, great toppings and a flavor that can compete with any dedicated pizzeria.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the service is always friendly and attentive. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing food to go, Hobo’s delivers quality across the board.
If you’re in St. Peters and craving comfort food done right, Hobo’s is a must-visit.
Highly recommended!

Based on reviews I was expecting a bit more from their food. They even had a line nearly going out the door; surely their fried chicken must be out of this world, right?

Fried chicken – it’s good but doesn’t hold a candle to Gus’s. A step above fried chicken from the grocery store but not by much, nothing special about it.
Ribs – very mid, not trimmed right, sauce is average.
Haddock – was ok.
Beans – excellent, they had a unique spice to them.
Mash and gravy – standard
Fried pickles – wayyyy too salty like they forgot the pickles themselves had salt and they added a bunch more. These will punch your kidneys.

Service was a bit rushed and they seat you with other guests if your group isn’t big enough. You’re also signing yourself in vs them having a host. This place is mostly a locals hangout not a foodie destination.

Moving reviews over from Yelp and this was published 10/29/16:

I’ve been here twice now and had remarkably good food both times. It is really surprising how busy they get so don’t plan to walk in and grab a seat right away unless you arrive early for whatever time you’re going – this applies to after work and lunch. Not sure about other times as those are the times when I’ve been here.

Lunch – I went with a friend at his suggestion. It was my first visit. He and I both ordered their fried chicken and it was really, really good. They make it from scratch and cook it to order so be prepared to wait for a little while for it to hit the table. Served with a choice of a couple of sides for about 8 bucks. The chicken is exactly what fried chicken is meant to be. Steaming hot, tender and juicy meat with a flavorful, crispy coating.

After work – Chose the sliders and butterflied shrimp. The sliders are little cheeseburgers but far better than expected. Decent sized patties cooked medium-well and topped with slices of melted cheddar. The patties were well seasoned and the buns toasted. Really good! The butterflied shrimp were nice and crispy without being tough or chewy. Served with cocktail sauce that had a nice amount of horseradish in it and a great flavor with a kick.

Loved it! We stopped here around 2pm on a Saturday on a road trip, and it was packed with a line. We were quickly sat w/i 15mins, and we got our food around 20-30mins. Wow.

My “not so hungry” parents finished 3 catfish each. I had the “half a cluck” chicken dinner which was great. Coleslaw and mashed potatoes were recommended sides.

Our neighbors said people come for the food and prices, and they weren’t wrong.
