PLEASE NOTE: Our hours are varying, sometimes by the day. Since COVID became a part of all our lives, business has been affected. We may close unannounced (due to time) if we don’t have staff to handle the load. We can’t take care of you if we can’t take care of you properly.

El’s is an institution. The food is always really good. Know for the super burger, it is a Carolina classic. A fresh burger patty, mustard, onions, chili and a sweet coleslaw. If you have been to Cookout, it is like their Cookout style, but this is the original! Order from the waitress that comes out to the car and you get hot, fresh cooked food. Feed the seagulls and bring cash – cards are not accepted.

A little roadside eatery with old fashioned flare. Had their signature cheeseburger, some fries, and an oyster burger. The burger was below average for me, having a bun that was soggy and smashed. My wife’s oyster burger was perfect, however. Full of flavor and well put together. The staff was amazing and took our orders right away. The parking situation is a little wonkie, with cars stacked up out of order. The wait for food was rather long, but overall, it was an OK experience.

We’re a couple of Vermonters visiting and we are beyond glad we stumbled upon Els. The staff was fantastic and the food? Let’s just say this northerner had never has a hush puppy before and I am now obsessed. Hubby loved the shrimp, so far the best food we’ve eaten in NC!!

We came here for vacation. The food was delicious and our bird friends we’re so fun to watch. The waitresses run their butt off but could be a little nicer but we came for the food ..not a nice welcome. The food did not disappoint neither did the price. They are cash only but it was worth it .

I love this place and everytime I’m in the area I do a cheating day for one of the Super Cheeseburgers❣️ I love everything about this burger including the chili and slaw. The fries are always hot and fresh, etc etc❤️ I really enjoy being able to sit in my car there. But one of the best things is not only the food but the wonderful customer service. These ladies work hard and fast to get your orders and get food to you promptly and always with a smile. I highly recommend El”s to anyone going to the area for a day, week, or more.
