We popped in for an early dinner with our mid ’80s parents. To our surprise, even at that hour we needed a reservation. They were able to accommodate us on the screened patio. I was concerned that with the temps in the 40s we werent going to be comfortable but the heaters worked amazing and even my elderly parents were quite warm (they’re ALWAYS cold). The service was really nice not rushed, I’d call it “laid back”. I reall liked the menu and the prices were really pretty reasonable.
The mushroom soup was outstanding! Lots of fresh, not over cooked mushrooms. It was excellent. As were the Pork Belly Bahn Mi and the Smash Burger. I would not recommend the steaks. If you do, and I cant as a meatatarian believe Im saying this, order med well. My 85 yr old father in law ordered the med well but it came out medium to medium rare. He kept saying it tasted good but was chewy. We didnt pay that much attention until he said he couldnt eat any more because his jaws hurt. I tried a piece and it was like chewing on a rubber band.

The desserts were good and a good variety. It was very nice of them to comp us one for the steak mix up. I would definitely go back and most likely will. It was one of the rare menus that so much looked good that I would like to experience more.

I cannot say enough good things about our first visit to Hobnob last night! First, I always assumed this place was out of our price range, but it is actually extremely reasonable. For an appetizer, two entrees, a glass of wine, and a dessert, we spent less than $100!
We had:
-Fried Oysters: Absolutely wonderful!
-Shrimp & Grits: I’m not typically a “shrimp and grits person,” but this meal literally changed my mind. It was one of the best meals of my life. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked!
-Grilled Pork Chop: My husband loved his pork chop, though even he had to admit my shrimp and grits stole the show!
-Rum Raisin Crème Brûlée: You can tell this is made in-house. It’s rare to actually taste the rum in a dessert, but this was spot on!

We sat on the patio, which was covered and heated, making it incredibly comfortable even for an outdoor seat. Our waitress was wonderful and let us know that the menu changes five times a year.
We are officially hooked and will definitely be back for all the seasons. Go! You will not be disappointed!

I have not been in this part of town before but will definitely be back to visit Hobnob! Great ambience and the food was incredible. The hush puppies were a must, and the chicken sandwich is up there with some of my favorites in Richmond. Fun cute patio vibe and I look forward to coming back to try the other things on the menu!

Stopped in for a bite, no reservations, so sat in the open air patio out front. We ordered the seasonal beers on draft which were also on happy hour. It was the first day of the new autumn menu so I tried the mushroom and swiss smash burger and it was everything! Hot, two patties, plenty of mushrooms with cheese, out of this world. Paired with sweet potato fries and ranch for dipping, it was a 5 star dinner. Service, as usual, was on point! So glad this resturant is part of our community!

Great vibe, patio was nice and quite a busy Saturday evening!! Lots of buzz, beautiful food going by being served and when we got our lamb meatballs starter, they were hot and delish!!! My husband got the hangar steak cooked to perfection with delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I got the shrimp and grits!!!! HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHRIMP AND GRITS I have ever had in my life!!! It was fresh and hot and the portion was huge!! Succulent shrimp, divine grits and the sauce part was just out of this world. I savored every bite!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I had some to bring home and it was just as delicious for breakfast the next day!! Kudos to the chef!!!!

Came at 11 on a Sunday. Which I would consider peak brunch time. Parking lot isn’t huge but I didn’t have a hard time.

Got the chicken and waffle. I’ve never had the combo before so I don’t have a frame of reference for what’s considered the best version of that, but I enjoyed it. Would order again.

I didn’t get to observe the interior too much. Apparently it was booked up. So this place is pretty popular. I sat outside. plenty of outdoor seating. Service was decent.

Brunch spots are kind of a dime a dozen in this city. This one didn’t blow me away, but I wasn’t disappointed in any way.

I had the most wonderful solo dining experience at Hobnob! This cozy little neighborhood gem is warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out.

From start to finish, the service was fantastic. My server was friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations; every dish I ordered was an absolute hit. I started with a Pomegranate Collins, the whipped goat cheese with sourdough, and a cup of lamb sausage stew, all of which were delicious. For my entrée, I had the bistro steak with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The portions were generous, so I even had leftovers to bring home!

What made the evening even more special was the lovely conversation I had with the couple seated next to me. The intimate, homey atmosphere makes it easy to feel welcome and connect with others.

If you’re looking for incredible food, stellar service, and a charming atmosphere, Hobnob is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

I love cute gems like this!!! Great atmosphere & delicious food! Cute & Quaint. My kind of spot

I’m a shrimp and grits connoisseur ( if that’s a real thing, lol ), and they did not disappoint. But can we talk about these keylime donuts? OMG.

When visiting the Richmond VA area, add this spot to your list.

Our first visit was amazing. We made an easy reservation for indoor seating upon recommendations.
The staff was attentive and friendly without being annoying. The food was outstanding. It was fresh and we had plenty to take home.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. There was a neighborhood feel where I wished I live close by.

Since brunch is only served on Sunday, I’m looking forward to my next Sunday visit!
