We have been to Chinatown thousands of times and always passed by this restaurant and never tried it before(wired). It is definitely on our “to-do” list.

The food in this restaurant is delicious, literally one of the best Chinese meals I have ever eaten. The customer service is excellent, very attentive, very pleasant and friendly. Will definitely visit EVERY time I come to Philadelphia, I was there 2 days ago and going back tonight lol

We just stumbled on this place while in Chinatown. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The place is very small and intimate and feels more like going to a relatives house for dinner rather than a restaurant. The food came out quickly and was delicious! The serving sizes were huge especially with how well priced the dishes were. The owner was so nice and helpful and had a wonderful sense of humor!

Extremely rude. Double charged us for our food, and we had to fight them to take the duplicate item off. We didn’t eat any of the food because it was unidentifiable. Nowhere on the menu does it say gratuity is included, but they added it in without our permission.

Basic fried rice was unrecognizable and inedible. Others at table seemed to enjoy their food. Seafood in lobster sauce not god to me. Ate all seafood left bowl of sauce. Soda 3.98, non-refillable.Extra charge for using credit cards even dishes were pricey. No plans to ever go back. Used to be really good. “Used to be” are operative words.

Came here due to the high ratings and was not disappointed. Ordered three dishes recommended by the waiter and it was all perfect and tasted like home cooking.

No frills establishment that serves exactly the kind of Americanized Chinese comfort food I’m looking for. The hosts couldn’t be friendlier. Not trying to be trendy, the decor has probably been there since the 80s but it’s also exactly the sort of place you expect from a dine-in family-run restaurant.

It seems restaurants like Ho Sai Gai are usually love or hate. In this instance, I loved it. The general tso’s chicken that I had was unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. The consistency of the sauce and the texture of the breading was unique and delicious.
