Hmong food. What is Hmong food? To answer that question, you must first understand who we are and where we come from. Hmong people are a hill tribe people from Southeast Asia—Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand. We are a people of love and nurture, of passion and life. We are historically a poor people who eat a way of subsistence. We waste none. And though we may not have much, we give all. In our culture, it is considered especially rude for a host to not offer their guests food, for food is the most exemplary display of our hospitality.
Before all else, we cook for our guests. And what meals do we cook for them you might ask? Why, our mother’s meals of course!
Informal cafe specializing in pho & egg rolls, plus Thai curries, stir-fries & fried seafood.

My sister took me to her favorite Hmong place and I was not disappointed! We got spring rolls and egg rolls, both with pork. They tasted great, I loved. the dipping sauces, but the pork was just very very thin strips, can’t say I really noticed it, but both were tasty.
The egg rolls were different than I’ve ever had in that they were long and thin – think I prefer them this way. They came out crispy and very hot to the table.
We shared the fried chicken leg, which was the drumstick and the thigh, with sticky rice. I loved how they cut it into four pieces and how crispy the skin was.
For dessert I had their special drink/dessert the Nab Vam. It is a “tapioca dessert drink filled with colorful jellies, crunchy water chestnuts, chewy pearls, lightly sweet with creamy coconut”. It was not only beautiful, but delicious.
Service was quick, and it’s a bright, airy place, and I definitely would go back again.

We had no idea what to expect with this spontaneous dinner find. Walking in, the atmosphere was bright, clean, and modern. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu had a bunch of amazing options. Our food came out far more quickly than anticipated. We had the chicken stir fry, papaya salad, and two egg rolls. They were all incredibly good. We will definitely be back.

really great food in a casual environment. I had the papaya salad and spring rolls. Papaya salad was delicious and authentic, but could gain some spice from fresh Thai chilis instead of dried chilis.

I think it’s safe to say this is one of, if not the best restaurant in la crosse. Fresh ingredients expertly prepared (and for takeout, packaged securely) make this restaurant your best option in La crosse. The egg rolls, spring rolls, entrees, and pho are all great choices. I come here all the time!

Vietnamese cuisine has my heart.
Great place & it sure does smell appetizing.
I was craving Pho & egg rolls for a very long time since moving to La Crosse a month back and this place did total justice to my cravings.
Warm & welcoming staff plus you get your food served pretty fast here so if you are super famished this should be your go to place.
Absolutely delish food .

It’s a shame. The food is good. Pho, sausage, chicken, all good. Stir fry, egg rolls, sticky rice, all good. The when, the how, and unfortunately, the if, are so poor.
Watching bag after bag after bag of takeout hit the window with a gratifying ding of the bell serving those that arrived and ordered well after dine in customers. Appetizers arriving with the entrees. Empty glasses of water. And for the finale, being told they were out of an item we ordered, as the entrees were being served, only to see that very item being served to others as we were leaving. A biting finish.

Was seated within minutes, food came out at appropriate pace for a Saturday evening. Delish and hot. Could use a little more spices in the dishes. Great service and staff. Hands down one of the best egg rolls I’ve had in Wisconsin.

Very good food! The sweet wings are definitely spicy but a good spicy! The fried rice is amazing and the pad lad nad is so good! The mild stir fry is still quite spicy but nothing we couldn’t handle. We will be back!

The food here is good and the facility is new and clean. The spring rolls we’re my least favorite part of my meal but they were still good. I had the stir-fry which I really liked despite it having green peppers which I dislike. My wife had some of the soup which she liked despite it having cilantro.

3/18/2022. My wife and I came to visit La Crosse to see Grandad Bluff and other stuff. Decided to eat at Golden Egg Rolls. Nice little place. When we got here, it was busy, they only had 2 servers/waiters but they both did great considering how busy they were. We order 2 Egg Rolls, Pho, and Pad Lad Nad. The egg rolls was okay, not bad, but nothing special about it. It was fresh and crunchy. From the photo, the sauce looks red, but in person, it actually has a pink hue to it, which reminds me of pepto bismal pink. The sauce isn’t your typical egg roll sauce. It looks like a sweet and sour sauce, but to me it tasted bland with a after spice taste. You’ll have to try it for yourself. The pho was nothing special, just a regular very light pho broth taste, nothing flavorful, it wasn’t bad or good. The only thing was they do not have enough pho condiments at the tables for all the tables. After I was done using mines, they came and ask to take the ones on my table to give to the other tables. There isn’t much table condiments to add to the pho(fried garlic, beef flavor paste, chili oil, hoisin sauce, siracha sauce). I’ve never been to a pho place that has beef flavor paste. My wife had the Pad Lad Nad. From the menu, it says dark brown peanut sauce, but the sauce looks lighter in color and there seems to be no peanut in it. Overall nice little place, service was great, food was okay, it fills your belly. I say the best food was the small seasame balls they were selling at the counter.
