The food here is phenomenal, honestly if you leave here hungry it’s your fault. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t good. Breakfast will blow your mind. Pancakes the size of the plate fresh meats cooked to perfection. A true hidden gem of Washington county. Anyone on a trip through the back country highway system of Georgia needs to put this on the list of stops.

We had a mini family reunion at the Hitchin Post today, 6 people from Conyers, GA and 8 from Lexington, SC. Our nephew deer hunts near Davisboro, and his hunting buddies highly recommended the fried chicken at this restaurant, and it was halfway between our two groups, 2 hours ride. It was a really, really wonderful experience for us! Such a nice little town, very good fried chicken, vegetables, key lime cake, unique paper-thin crispy cornbread, nice waitress, large tables, and plenty of room for our group, including 4 children. Thanks, Hitchin Post! It was good!

Pretty good most of the time. Sometimes there’s the occasional wilted lettuce or burger patty smaller than the bun, but the food is usually pretty good.
