Zanetta Roberson has spent nearly 40 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Now, combining that experience with recipes cultivated by her family in the hills of New Castle, AL, she is serving dishes that have been staples for family and friend gatherings. Husband, Darrin Roberson is a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force. After serving at Barksdale AFB (Shreveport, LA), the Birmingham native, relocated to Maxwell AFB (Montgomery, AL). Following his military career, which included tours in Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, Darrin transitioned to teaching elementary school. He has been a part the Montgomery Public School system for over 14 years. Son, Dyron first learned to cook with his granny – she taught him to fry

Delicious soul food! The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was relaxing. The pulled pork, ribs, loaded fries and mac and cheese were great. I tried the peach cobbler and while I normally don’t eat it, I’ve added it to my palette since. It is the best!

I love this place so much I visited for the first time on Sunday the 28th of December. Let me tell yall this place is amazing every single thing was fresh. There’s a wait but while you wait you get to bond with your friends and family and it’s a reasonable time. Adrienne was such an amazing server and host I absolutely adored her she felt like my auntie. Yall definitely need to keep her she is the epitome of southern hospitality I will most definitely be back and more frequently than you think …!!

We went in after seeing it passing by with no intention of getting supper while out today. We went in to try it expecting to take it all home and not enjoy it…. But it Hit Different! We did take left overs only because there was so much food! This is home cooked food that is fabulous! No frozen to heat type food that all these restaurants do. Oh my goodness the peach cobbler is real grandma cobbler! It dont need ice cream or anything to cover up the frozen to heat taste! The service is great! Everyone was great and we felt welcomed and wanted! Not the typical don’t care just tip me service you find everywhere else! Please let’s all support this locally owned restaurant!

For me food is over hyped but the shrimp and fish were seasoned and fried Great! Sides not the worst but I would probably try something different if I return. Thought the cheesesteak was covered in cheese instead its mayo and I don’t like that but that’s just not my preference I suppose.

My husband and I both had the cheese steak sandwich. It is one of the best cheese steak sandwiches we have ever had. Absolutely delicious. The Mac n cheese was also delicious. Peach cobler was very good. We will definitely be back here. Service was great. We didn’t realize they close at 7, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We never felt rushed or hurried. Great experience!

My wife was craving bbq so we came and she got a bbq sandwich. I got pork chops but wanted to try the bbq so I got a slider. The bbq was good and smoky like you want. The potato salad was good. A mix between mayo and mustard. The lemon pepper okra was good but I want that more on chicken. I’ll get regular next time. The peach cobbler was the best ever. The only thing is I had to ask for ice 3 times after it melted completely in my tea glass. She finally brought out a cup of ice , then come time to pay they charge me 3.5 % of the meal cost for their credit card machine. I never eat at places that charge me for something that befits them so I’m never going back. That’s the price of doing business. Next time charge someone for your insurance and labor costs , and rent. Raise prices if you cant afford to use a credit card machine.

Hit Different; hits Different never fail food Great! Customer service GREAT! Atmosphere GREAT! always clean, Owner GREAT! Food was fresh and hot we had 2 poppin pork chop dinners 2 sides each I had greens and sweet potatoes he had greed and Mac and cheese my daughter had the crackin chicken wings and greens spent about $50+ and to put icing on the cake the owner gave me a serving of the cobbler MMMMM OMG ALL GOOD!!!! When an establishment is referred by environmental services you best believe I’m going to check it out and did and do and it’s good every freakin time come with patience cause you’re gonna wait for good food and that it is!!!!!

Always forget this place is here! We stopped in for an early dinner and had a great experience. They let me order all flats on my wings and mixed Hot & Honey mustard together for my sauce. It was BANGING!!!! We’ll definitely be back. Hopefully next time I’ll see my sauce combo on the menu named after me .
