The place is gorgeous, great service but the food was okay. I got the duck and it wasn’t that great and the sides mashed potatoes and roasted carrots had minimal flavor. My wife had the fillet and she liked it. She also liked the French onion soup. Bread pudding is good.

I am so happy we stopped into the hotel. This place is wonderful. The atmosphere took me back in history. Love the colonial look inside and out. The dinning room was spectacular, flawless. We had lunch and I could not stop saying how good every thing was. The Kentucky Hot Brown blew my hubby away. Thank you to the staff for making this an exceptional stop.

Historic Boone Tavern is a weel-known landmark in Central Kentucky. It is very inviting and has a distinctive, historic feel. Some things to keep in mind when traveling here. The beds are smaller than typical hotel beds. I could not find an iron or ironing board in my room. The edge of the sink is beveled which made it extremely difficult when setting anything down on it when getting ready in the morning. Everything kept falling in the sink. The food however is worth the trip. Many locals will travel here just to dine in the restaurant. Would return again, but will bring my own iron.

We visited Boone Tavern for Easter brunch. I had the stuffed peppers and they were great! The spoon bread is also goo and is included with all meals.

Love this place. Have been three times in the past couple of years. Thoroughly impressed with service & atmosphere. Located on the campus of Berea College, the tavern employs college students who are fulfilling required work hours while gaining valuable life experience. The tavern rooms are reasonably priced, many have nice views & retain the charming atmosphere of yesteryear. The tavern restaurant offers classic Kentucky fare with modern updates. Don’t miss the Hot Brown & spoon bread!

Love the atmosphere and the town itself. The service was wonderful. The spoon bread was great and gluten free. The French onion soup was so delicious. Loved the salads we had too!

Another quality visit to a landmark restaurant in Central Kentucky. We booked a table for Sunday brunch and we’re not disappointed. Small plates of deviled eggs and fried green tomato stacks were the star of the meal. Regular menu items were well prepared but less inspired.

Had a delicious meal in a charming & welcoming space. A true treat. The hostess & servers were polite and friendly even though I came in just before closing. Sid, one of the students who worked there was a pleasure to chat with! The entire evening was a gem.

I was very underwhelmed by this dining experience. I ordered the salmon which I have 90% of the time when we dine out anywhere and this was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The salmon was WAY overcooked, the outside should not be crispy, crunchy and burned. The risotto was super thick as if it had been overcooked as well and everything was extremely bland and tasteless. Service was very slow when only half of the tables were being used while we were there for dinner and our waiter didn’t come over enough to refill our drinks so we were thirsty the whole time. Just disappointed 🙁
