The sushi here was seriously amazing. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. The edamame appetizer also surprised me because it tasted so fresh, and as a huge edamame lover I noticed it right away. The service felt very comfortable too, friendly and attentive without being too much. I was a little stressed trying to find street parking at first, so discovering they actually have their own parking spots was such a relief. It was my first visit and I left feeling really impressed. Definitely coming back!!!

We went on a weekday at around 4 and were welcomed right away. There was no table for A party of 5 but they immediately combined two tables. While we were ordering, the nice young man came to us reminding us it was happy hours. Food was great and fresh, sushi rice was flavorful and thin layer. Tempura was the best—highly recommend

A true authentic Japanese restaurant. I’ve tried many Japanese food restaurants, some with Hibachi herein the Bay Area, and this is my #1. 5 stars because the Mix tempura was crisp but soft and light golden color due to the cleaness of the oil used to fry it. The Calamari Yum Yum Fries actually tasted fresh, were not hard to chew, and eating one had me going back for another. The Miso Soup was rich in flavor, unlike other places where it is watered down. The Teriaky Chicken was cooked to the point that the chicken meat was juicy and not dry. Now, the roll I ordered here is the Lion King Roll, and here, each roll was easy to grab unlike other places they cook the roll and it all sticks together creating a mess when trying to each it. The service from all the staff is polite, attentive, and friendly. The place inside is nicely decorated and tranquil, and with the right people gatherings can be enjoyable. Give this hidden gem a try. You won’t regret it!

This was my 9th visit at this place, and I finally did a rating based on each experience.

Delicious sushi! Fish is very fresh and good quality. The menu is much broader than under the old management (Naomi). Quick, polite service. Prices are quite reasonable for the high quality. I’m do glad to have a great neighborhood sushi place back!

Smallish neighborhood sushi place. We ordered two bento boxes with 3 choices ($21) . I had the salmon teriyaki and my two choices were Gyozas (3) and Sashimi (Tuna). My host had the same Bento boxes but his two choices were California Roll(6pcs) and Sashimi (Salmon 3 pcs). All lunches came with Green Tea, Miso Soup, Salad, Rice. And the main entree Salmon was a big fillet well cooked and moist. They have wine beer and sake but not whiskey. What a shame. Since Japanese whiskeys are so good . Our server Nicole was very friendly and patient. My host shows up a30 mins late. great value with good food and generous servings

NEW REVIEW UPDATED JANUARY 2026
We have gone here many times and it used to be our go-to sushi spot, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. This last visit was a total disappointment from start to finish. The fish was terrible—it lacked the freshness we’ve come to expect—and the presentation was shockingly bad. There were multiple pieces piled on top of each other and inconsistent sizes throughout our order. To top it off, the toro was so dark and unappealing that the person bringing it out kept insisting it was beef. The service has also declined significantly; when we brought these glaring issues to their attention, the response was a dismissive “uh, I don’t know what to do.” We won’t be returning.

OLD REVIEW:
This sushi restaurant is an absolute gem, delivering a dining experience that exceeds expectations on every level. From the moment you sit down, it’s clear that quality and attention to detail are top priorities. The fish is simply outstanding — incredibly fresh, buttery, and so tender that it practically melts in your mouth. Each piece of nigiri and sashimi is crafted with precision, highlighting the natural flavors of the fish in the most elegant way possible. It’s the kind of freshness that you can taste with every bite, leaving you craving more.

The menu offers an impressive variety of options, catering to both traditionalists and those looking for something more adventurous. Classic nigiri and sashimi are prepared with finesse, while the specialty rolls showcase creative combinations of flavors and textures. No matter what you order, you’re met with bold, fresh flavors that highlight the chef’s mastery of their craft. From melt-in-your-mouth toro to delicate white fish and sweet, tender shrimp, each bite is memorable.

The service is equally remarkable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They’re quick to offer thoughtful recommendations and ensure that every aspect of the meal is seamless. Whether you have questions about a specific fish or want guidance on pairing dishes, the staff goes above and beyond to enhance the dining experience. Their attentiveness makes you feel genuinely cared for, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant.

Between the impeccable fish quality, diverse menu options, and attentive service, this sushi restaurant sets itself apart as a must-visit destination. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again, knowing that each experience will be just as unforgettable as the last. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi enthusiast or a newcomer to high-quality sushi, this spot delivers an exceptional meal every time.

We had our team gathering dinner at Hirotake and it was a wonderful dining experience. Its a cozy and well laid out place with sushi bar and has easy access to car parking.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the Sashimi, Hirotake platter and my favorite dish was the warm Alaska Roll.

The service was great with attentiveness to each and every member of team which will be remembered for long time and a reason to visit again.

Keep up the good quality food, presentation and your warm service. We will be visiting again soon

It was our first time since opening and we were thrilled!! Generous servings and plenty of options. Got the omekase and deluxe sashimi. Otoro was off the hook. Ask for fresh wasbe (not the pasty stuff). Decent sake selection.

Used to love this place. But they have a huge on line order business which appears to take priority over diners. Twice had half the table’s food arrive promptly and then waited 60 minutes for the rest. The server was unapologetic and told us to just wait. Unfortunate. The food was generally pretty good.
