Pretty good burgers. We got the mushroom bacon burgers and they were super good, especially if you add fry sauce to them. I’d come back.

Food was pretty good, bacon is better than b and ds, but it took a long time, and we had to ask for more ketchup multiple times, and for a table service place, to have to get up and go up to the counter to ask and wait for more ketchup is not really how things ought to be. You sell hamburgers and french fries, cough up the ketchup.

Soggy, undercooked and underseasoned fries. Had to throw mine in the air fryer to salvage them. 12+ dollars for a mid burger and bad fries is definitely not worth it–i feel like I’ve been swindled. Sad.

Haven’t been here in a while and stopped in for lunch. The staff were fast and friendly, everything was clean, and the service was quick. Got the Jalapeno H and it was pretty good. Fries are decent, just be prepared. Dipping sauce is a separate charge. Not a bad place for a quick bite.

You could get a veggie burger at Hires before just about anywhere else. It was so good. The New York veggie H is delicious. It’s been a while since we went and my recollection was that it was always a bit expensive but tonight I was pretty surprised, For two adults and two kids. We spent $64! That feels a bit much. Love the food and the history. Not sure it’s worth the cost.

I have been coming to the hires on 700 east since I was a kid, I have such an affection for Hires; in general it’s always been a great go-to for a quick bite. However, when my boyfriend and I came here the other night it was a totally different experience. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was brown throughout. We let the gentleman at the front counter know, but he didn’t seem to care. He shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say anything. We weren’t asking for a discount we just wanted them to know. Our server was rude. I understand everyone has bad days but it seemed even taking our order was painful. When we went to the counter to pay we saw one of the front of the house employees kicking fries and silverware under the cook stations. I love Hires, sad to see it moving in this direction. I hope they get the support and training they need.

So growing up Big H was it. It has been years since I have been there but in the last nine weeks I have eaten there 2 times. today I ordered 2 burgers and onion rings. I request part get salt and pepper because a few weeks ago felt like it needed little flavor the lady taking prefer did not understand spoke Spanish barely English. Much has changed my burger consisted of a patty and seven small super small pieces of lettuce 2 pickles. My memory was they were stacked. Don would pick the produce himself. I Expected and would receive burgers lettuce onion pickles and tomato for sure. The bun would almost get soggy. Delicious for sure. Super disappointed. A part of home is gone

Great place for burgers, fries are okay (not bad, just not amazing). Service was great and all the staff we interacted with was super friendly. Ordered a combo and it was supposed to come with root beer in a frosty mug but it came in a paper cup disappointingly.
