I honestly had such a great experience at Hirame Sushi. From the second we walked in, everyone was welcoming and upbeat. You can tell the team really cares about the place.
The food was amazing — super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh, and everything came out quickly without feeling rushed. Every roll we tried was delicious.

This family run business is an amazing spot for newcomers to the area. There were these three young teenage boys that were very helpful and very responsible. These boys kept asking if I needed anything asking if the food was well and of course I answered yes. The food and management was very great. 10000/10. Would 100% recommend.

Best Japanese restaurant in Yorktown!
Never seen such a fat shrimp tempura and fresh salmon this far from ocean 🙂 servicing staffs are very friendly and the owner is on sight to make sure everything is right. Came with no expectation but came out with satisfied customer! Definitely a repeat custome!

You’d LOVE to think that the owners care about what they’re selling to their clients when they bring guests out for dinner. One should not be embarrassed by the absolute horrible quality of their food and how they process their dishes was absolutely atrocious and disgusting.
I’m sorry BUT the whole Staff knows there is NOT enough fish in the store then do NOT offer it for sale. I’m livid. They served me legitimately paper thin thin slices of what they had left on hand.
Went home angry and hungry. Will never go back again for the last few times they were getting sorta horrible but they really nailed the door shut with me ever going back there again. Good Luck is needed in this restaurant badly. Because it’s miserable in there. The fried rice was also GNARLY. It just tasted of red uncooked onion and oil and thick oil greased across the kernels of rice. This too wasn’t made right either. Just a huge never again in this lifetime.

My family and I came here as newcomers to the area, drawn by the restaurant’s great sushi reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming.
While I understand the charm of a family-run business, the person managing the restaurant had young teenagers taking our orders who clearly lacked serving experience. On top of that, I was loudly asked across the room to change my order to a hot dish because the sushi I chose would take over an hour to prepare. It was both embarrassing and unpleasant.
Throughout our visit, staff were answering phones loudly, mentioning how busy they were and wait times for pickup orders, which added to the chaotic feeling. Overall, I was very disappointed with our experience and do not feel it was worth the money we spent. I would recommend considering other options in the area.

Unassuming on the outside and when you enter but have no fear this family owned restaurant will win you over.
Whitney will probably greet, seat and wait on you, as others said she is super friendly makes you feel welcome. She recognizes us and remembers our favorites, or is quick to make a reccomendation.
The sushi is the best in upper Westchester, always fresh and consistently great. Udon bowls are also excellent.
If you like sushi, Hirame is highly reccomended.

We love this place! It’s fabulous for little children as they have a small play area and they’re very accommodating. We’ve also been happy with using Hirame sushi for large platters of sushi rolls for parties. Their food is consistently great.
