Employees are nice, restaurant is clean. It’s our 4th time eating Hippo. Tots were great and sweet potato fries as well. Now for the big issue the first time we went the burger was really good now every-time after the burger has been very dry so our fourth time going we asked the young lady if we could please have a fresh patty right off the grill or griddle whatever it’s called. But when we got our burger it was not fresh, was kinda dry and not very hot. When a patty is fresh it’s juicy and a little greasy. But nope very dry and bland and it’s been like that the last 3 times we visited. Here is a pic of my food they say a pic is worth a thousand words, patty says it all. I don’t mind paying I high price for food but for $17.89 it better be really really good.

The “crispy onions” on the BBQ burger, is not what you would expect – crispy onions slivers – it was a single onion ring. Do not order the garlic fries, its not some sort of garlic seasoning salt they use – oh no, they dumped two huge tablespoons of wet juicy garlic right out of a jar on top of the fries. The smell alone was so overwhelming that it was difficult to even eat the burger. I will say that the burger patty was nice and thick, and had the sloppy jarlic not ruined the whole meal, we might could have enjoyed the burgers. Sweet tea was good. It was also unappealing to have an employee start sweeping right beside us stirring up dust as we were eating when literally only 3 other people there and he could have swept up a lot of other places besides right where someone is eating at.

Staff here are great and very willing to help you find a meal that best suits you. The milkshakes are made with REAL Blue Bell Ice cream as well! The food here is amazing I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from their menu. I would highly recommend the Caujan Tater tots as well.

I had the Mexican burger. it was pretty solid. good size, good bun. the Patty was pretty flavorful and pretty well seasoned.
the cheese fries were kind of limp and the cheese sauce was some straight out of the can stuff. I would skip them for the price unless you really want that little league baseball snack stand experience
this was another one of those restaurants that like has a drive-thru but doesn’t have fast food speed for the food coming out of the kitchen so expect a little bit of a wait. also the drive-thru is weird and the box that the person stands in to take your order and bring you food is detached from the building so they have a little bit of a walk to get there which I think adds a little bit to the wait times

Pretty good burgers, not the best but nothing to complain about. Definitely worth going back. I had a regular cheese burger, thick juicy patty, some Cajun seasoning fry’s with a good chocolate shake made out of blue bell ice cream. I also got a kids meal with some onion rings and they were really crispy and delicious.

Let me start by saying that I will return to this location and that i have been to the one in Humble a few times. I realize that they have only been open a few days. Hopefully it will improve. The counter staff was friendly, the digital menu is difficult to read. Our order arrived quickly. Overall the food was mediocre. I had to rebuild my burger as all the toppings were put on in a pile. The patty on both of our burgers was broken apart. While I was eating it pieces of the burger were falling out of the bun. That didn’t make for a very satisfying bite. It had good flavor but the burger was dry. I had to take my grandson to the restroom while we were there and as I started to walk down the hall I was choked up by the overwhelming sewer smell. I don’t know why that was but if that was coming from the kitchen they probably should not have opened until it was corrected

Gotta come try this place! Food is great, staff is cool, place is chill altogether. Lots of food options, but I stuck with the original Hippo Burger & Fries. Looking forward to trying some of the other items in the future

Food was excellent. Instead of spending 13$ for a dinky burger at McDonald’s or another big change you can get a very thick and large burger of your choice from the menu with fries and drink. 13$ for all burger combos. To get only a burger the prices vary and can be high. However they are well worth it. They have like four different types of fries and there is no upcharge on what type you choose. I got regular and they were good. There are other thing on the menu I only got a burger combo.
I took lots of pictures I hope that if you see this place you give it a try rather than getting the usual fare for a burger.
