Hip Flask Rooftop Bar was perfect for date night! The stunning rooftop views, cozy seating, and chic décor created such a romantic vibe. Staff were warm and attentive, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
It’s hands down one of Bethesda’s best spots for a night out — whether for a date, celebration, or just drinks with friends. Smart casual dress recommended. Can’t wait to return!
I have been wanting to visit hip flask for months now and I finally got to visit to celebrate my birthday! We visited on a Friday night around 10pm (I was worried there would be no seats because the rooftop bar doesn’t take any reservations). They allowed us to bring in a cake and the service was phenomenal. Alfredo, the manager was super kind enough to check on us and bring us champagne on the house. In all my experience with managers I’ve never had a manager who went above and beyond like Alfredo! He went above and beyond to even provide us plates and take our pictures after his shift was over.
Ambiance:
The ambiance of the bar is absolutely gorgeous, the outdoor area is spacious and they actually provided us blankets! It would be nice if they provided fire pits (similar to how urban roast in DC has theirs). I’m not sure if as it gets closer to winter if they provide outdoor heaters, but that would be very much needed! The indoor bar area was pretty dark and provided a intimate aesthetic. The bathroom was beautiful as well! Parking was readily available, there are several garages in the area within walking distance and street parking also available. Parking was free when we arrived at 10pm on a Friday night.
Food/drinks:
I got a few shots and the Nikiwi, the nikiwi was delicious! My friends got other cocktails on the menu (i forgot which ones they got) but we all pretty much stayed the same thing that the cocktails were not as strong and pretty sweet! We got the crab cakes and wings. Most of my friends didn’t like the wings (4/10) and everyone said the crab cakes were pretty good (7/10).
Overall I will definitely return again because of the service we received from Alfredo and other staff members and the overall aesthetic of the place.
Tapas style food & fantastic drink options.
The venue is decorated with an amazing aesthetic. Low light, great energy & beautiful views from the top floor of the Marriott.
The bruschetta was absolutely phenomenal with fresh ingredients. The edamame was also a great compliment to our dish. Cocktails are well proportioned with varied styles & flavors to choose from.
My only recommendation would have to be to have more than one choice of dessert. Unfortunately the only pastry they offer is a donut crafted sweetener. If they decide to open up another slot for a dessert I can see myself visiting again sooner than anticipated.
None the less, still a great and amazing experience at the venue. Will definitely be back soon!
– Parking is walking distance to the Marriott and the hotel also offers valet parking. Once in, go to the front desk and you will escorted to the elevator.
Food: They have a restaurant downstairs with a full menu but the rooftop only offers appetizers which includes between 5-6 items. I ordered the wings and they were the best wings I ever had. They were SOO GOOD.
Drinks: I basically had the bartender freestyle on my drink as I always do. They were soo good but you can always order from the menu list.
I will also recommend sitting outside so get there early to secure a seat. There are no reservation!
