Great place to have your yummy Indian food. Ambience and decor was amazing. We had dinner here and we ordered chicken biryani, Gobhi 65, mango lassi & sweets.

Have eaten here many times and had some good experiences. Most recently, the food was pretty good. Service was pretty bad. Server guy with long blondish hair was very uncommunicative, would not interact with any of us at the table, plopped drinks and food down just anywhere on the table instead of asking who ordered what. He needs some training or something.

Quality food served but with below par dine-in service. You have to collect the menu, be seated, decide, then must come back to front desk to order. No one will mind if you expectedly wait forever. Took way too long to prepare and serve. Upon checking the owner/front desk/chef/server/(what else not) crassly replied “hey am not preparing fast food” (Self goal). Tepid food lost its strength! Ladies restroom was locked to owner’s ignorance! No ice in the water even if it’s scalding hot outside!

I visit Astoria periodically for work and since I like Indian food I usually eat here each time I visit. The food ranges from ok to good but at least tonight the service was poor. I came by at 7:48 this evening and the guy at the front desk seemed quite off put that I asked for a table because they were “closing in 12 minutes”. He tersely took a takeout order I placed instead of getting a seat. The food came quickly (curry was pretty greasy tonight) but the takeout bag had no napkins or utensils.

I have never liked Indian food, nor did I think I would ever like Indian food. But this was truly excellent. I got the chicken vindaloo and my partner got the chicken tikka Masala. The vindaloo was tangy and delicious. The masala was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Creamy, hint of sweet, hint of spice, truly incredible flavor I was unprepared to experience. The service was spotty. Joe Dirt could use some more training, but food came out very quickly. We also got the samosas for the appetizer and those were pretty good too. Great flavor, crispy outside, soft and very filling inside. And you do have to order your food up front. Don’t wait for them to take your order.

Poor customer service, even the owner was rude. The server refused to give us ice in water in a hot summer day. They didn’t had air conditioning either. No one great us or took our order for 30 minutes. Then someone mentioned we need to go to front to place our order when there is no sign saying anything . After placing our order we waited one hour and asked the server how long more and they server mentioned 30 more mins. We had to leave because I am diabetic and three our people are diabetic too. The server then mentioned you can’t leave without paying when we didn’t even had our food. Horrible Horrible service. We still paid for our drinks before we left.

Did not eat, just did a tour of the building. Pretty neat place. They had a weird shop upstairs that was a hoot. Very glad I went there. Highly recommended.

Amazing food. I’ve been going to Himani’s Indian Cuisine for over 10 years. My favorite is the Cracked Pepper Chicken with Rice and Garlic Naan (pictured).

I should have taken pictures of my food but I was too hungry! But y’all…go here! This place should be wayyy more busy for the quality of the food and the taste. Everything was fresh and hot. The wait for the food was a bit but it was ok because everything is made to order I believe. The coconut chicken curry with garlic naan and samosas are AMAZING! Although a bit pricey it was worth the money!

The rice was perfect! Caution on the level of spice you order, Medium is spicy. Naan is burnt on the bottom. Dahl was good. This meal was $40. Too much for this quality in my opinion. I didn’t care for the cauliflower. I was expecting something different. They said that is how the Naan bread is. However when I look at the their pics it is not like this. Waste of money. I miss Indian food. I tried
