Himalayan Yak Nepali Indian Restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm ambience sets the tone — elegant yet comfortable, with just the right blend of Himalayan charm and modern dining sophistication.
The momos are simply exceptional — perfectly steamed, delicately spiced, and bursting with flavor. The dipping sauces elevate them to another level. You can tell they’re made fresh and with authenticity. Easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere.
Beyond the momos, the menu offers a beautiful balance of Nepali and Indian classics. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, and presented beautifully. The spices are layered, not overpowering — allowing you to truly appreciate the depth of Himalayan cuisine.
One thing that truly impressed me was the wine selection. It’s rare to see such a well-curated wine list paired with Nepali and Indian cuisine. Whether you prefer a bold red to complement curries or a crisp white to pair with momos and lighter fare, they have excellent options. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to guide you.
Service was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming — you feel like a valued guest, not just a customer.
If you’re looking for authentic flavors, great ambience, and a refined yet comfortable dining experience, Himalayan Yak is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back.
On the other hand, the chicken curry is always being great and still is.
My culinary voyage began with curiosity. I decided to venture into the unknown with the Yak Momo. While it was a fascinating introduction, my heart ultimately settled on the Buff Momo. Here, I found a duality. In terms of pure taste, these dumplings were a triumph—meat-packed and delicious (a solid 5/5). However, for the purist seeking that specific, nostalgic balance of spices, the flavor profile felt slightly adapted rather than strictly traditional (Authenticity: 2/5). They are a delight to eat, even if they wander slightly from the classic recipe.
The true surprise, however, came before the main course. I was served a complimentary starter of Sel Roti—a gesture of sanskar (culture) rarely seen in restaurants abroad. Pairing it with Mula ko Achar (radish pickle) showed a deep respect for the heritage. Although dietary restrictions kept me from tasting the achar, its aroma alone was tantalizing.
The ambience offers a sophisticated fine-dining experience with beautiful décor. However, I offer one small poetic observation regarding the mural above: currently, a solitary light shines upon Mount Everest. The Himalayas are a vast family of peaks; it would be wonderful if a few more lights were added to illuminate the rest of the range, letting the entire artwork shine as brightly as the mountain spirit intended.
A wonderful experience. I will be back .
I also got the butter chicken, which was loaded with chicken. I would like to see more sauce, personally. I think it was closer to a tikka masala (heartier & more robust flavors). Oh, and I think they used thigh meat, so the tenderness was out of this world!
The staff is very polite and inviting—even for takeout. Will absolutely be back!!!
The Nepali cuisine is very close to Indian and this place hits all notes.
The service was fantastic and the place looks/feels upscale. The price reflects it but it’s well worth it.
Food tasted great and quantity is definitely on the “more” side. All courses tasted great!
The look and feel of the place is great and so is the location!
Definitely recommend this place!
