I haven’t been here for over 5 years. It was average then, now it’s worse.
The pho tastes like instant ramen, the butter chicken was bland and watery.
The place is dirty too.
It used to be cheap 5 years ago so I didn’t mind the quality, inflation has caught up and so have their prices. Now they are no different from other similar restaurants in BB offering much better food.
My opinion, go elsewhere

Oh my goodness!! This is fast food! Took about a minute from order to receiving the food. I got the spicy curry chicken. I hesitate in the color of the curry when I opened the container. The color isn’t as yellow as I had expected, but the taste is so good, especially for fast food, but it’s not spicy at all. The restroom is pretty clean. I asked for salt since one if the reviews mentioned the dish she ordered needed salt. The young lady at the counter gave me an orange color sauce… lost in translation . I am glad that she did misunderstood me. The sauce is spicy!! I love it!! I don’t know when I will be back here, but I would eat here often if I was closer!! One of my girls loves the chicken.

This was actually the first time I have heard about the Himalayan Curry Cafe so I was excited to see what types of foods were being served here and if it would become one of my go to spots to grab a meal. After arriving at the cafe, I was surprised with the variety of menu items the place had to offer. From curries, to fried noodles, and soups, it was difficult to decide what to order. I had a difficult time choosing what to pick, so I just ordered the “Himalayan Fried Chicken Noodle” as it seemed like a simple meal to try. It was late at night so I was worried about how fresh it would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. It came in less than 10 minutes, piping hot in a Styrofoam box filled to the brim with noodles and veggies. I was happy to see the variety of vegetables that were used in the dish. It included green peas, zucchini, green bell peppers and onions. The chicken wasn’t dry, which was a plus, and the noodles were cooked well, not at all overcooked. The taste of the sauce was bland and quite watery though. It did not have much flavor to it other than being slightly sweet and with a hint of spice, which I guess is nice if you can’t handle spicy food. The overall portion of food was quite reasonable for the price, which looked like it could be about two portions. I devoured it all in one sitting since I was starving and felt satisfied at the end of the meal. The staff also were very kind and welcoming. I came with a group of friends an hour before they were closing, and even when it was close to closing time, they wanted our group to stay and finish enjoying our food. I would give the food a solid six out of ten, but the customer service is a ten out of ten.
I went the next day to try another one of their dishes, and picked the “Vietnamese Pho”, since I was craving it after seeing it on the menu the previous day. I also decided to get a drink this time and choose to get the Mango Lassi, a mango flavored yogurt drink, which I have never tried before. I ordered it to go, and the pho came nicely packaged in a deli container. Again, the customer service was amazing, with all the needed utensils being placed in the bag. The mango lassi was in one of the coolers near the door, and at first glance I was pleasantly surprised to see the bits of fresh mango in the drink. The overall time it took to place the order and receive the meal took less than 10 minutes which was nice. After transferring the pho into a bowl back in my apartment, I was happily surprised with the amount of meat that was given. It was about 6-7 thick slices of beef, some were tough, but the rest were perfectly tender. It was not the usual thinly sliced beef, but it still tasted great, and wasn’t bland at all. The noodles were also not the typical thin vermicelli noodles, they were slightly thicker, but at least the noodles were not overcooked. The broth tasted more like a sweet and sour soup broth than a pho broth, but everything in the bowl went well together. The addition of lime was not really needed since in my opinion the broth was already sour, but the Thai basil did add a bit of pepperiness that was needed in the broth. Overall I would give the pho a six and a half out of ten, since it was not the typical Vietnamese pho but it still tasted quite nice. The mango lassi was refreshing with the sourness and sweetness of the mango and yogurt balancing each other out. I would give it a solid eight of ten, as it wasn’t as sweet as I wanted it to be.
In conclusion, I think that Himalayan Curry Cafe is a great place to go to if you want a decent meal for a decent price. A plus is that the people that work there are very friendly and welcoming.

I’ve never had Himalayan food so this was an interesting experience to have. I had no idea what to expect for the curry. It’s not thick and it’s more liquidy. So the texture, spices, and ingredients that they put that makes it unique. Not spicy at all and the chicken samosa is very breaded inside. It really depends on the person but I would have rather had it more crispy or less breaded but maybe that’s how the food is like. Either way I really liked it and I’m glad I tried it.

Very good food. It’s. A breath of fresh air to get a new cuisine in a sea of Chinese and Thai. The spice is very flavourful. My friends spoke very highly of this place. Stories of the food haunting their dreams. It lives up. Good price and great food. Two thumbs up. You have to check out a chicken, beef or pork curry. Himalayan is my new Jam!

We got the butter chicken and Vietnamese pho. A hair was in the pho, and this is not what butter chicken is supposed to look like… Spent 30 dollars on this, a vitamin water, and a regular water. Not impressed and I do NOT recommend.

Curry Cafe is a super casual vibe and does not have any servers or anything, so you’re just ordering from the counter. I came here for lunch with a friend and ordered the pho as well as the steamed dumplings and left very satisfied. Pricing was super fair and the food was good. I’ve definitely had better pho before, but it was still tasty and cheap. The dumplings were also very good.

Unfortunately, I ordered chicken biryani (chicken prepared in sauce with onions, tomatoes, etc with rice.) to be delivered. What I just had delivered was a big container of beef in rice. Considering a lot of people who eat here can’t have beef, this was disappointing. Thankfully I can eat beef but this would have been inedible to a lot of Hindus. Also as far as the beef goes, it’s still disappointing. Its a lot of big knobby bones and cartilage. No vegetables or onions, and definitely not worth the cost.
The photos are to show the container, beef, and my the order I had placed. Hopefully this was a fluke!

Basically everything is pre-cooked here and in big pots. I had spicy chicken curry. It was bland, chicken was dry, and I was unimpressed. Will not be returning. They had good sauce though, but I had to unscrew the lid because the sauce had dried and pasted to the squirt lid inside.

Affordable and good comfort food. I got the vegetable curry and pan fried noodles, which were good, but just good. I actually needed to add some salt to the curry. Nothing stood out in particular, so I’m not sure if I would come here again but it is a unique restaurant.
