Came to the former Beezers now the Hillsboro Roadhouse for lunch with 2 fellow hunters after I had told them how good it was 2 days before when I stopped for lunch on the way back from Sunrise orchards who I have reviewed in the past. So after sitting down our server came out with menus and to find out what we wanted to drink which was Cokes all around she left us to check out the menus after telling us the specials of the day. When she returned with our drinks we were ready to order i got the Bacon cheeseburger with American cheese and fries as i had 2 days before as it was excellent one of my companions ordered the same except he changed the fries for deep fried mushroom caps the other ordered the fish sandwich with fries we also ordered a side of fried cheese curds which turned out to be a big hit and totally different from the average cheese curds you get at other restaurants. Our food came in a very short time and as I expected everything was great burgers thick and juicy with 2 crispy full strips of bacon cheese melted perfectly fries seem hand cut and are cooked perfectly and my one fellow hunters mushroom caps he said were great and the others fish sandwich was really good also. The star of the table was the cheese curds as I said they are different than any I’ve had anywhere else. To begin with they are not breaded and they are hand cut chunks of cheese so they are all different sizes they are fried and they are soft and gooey inside but they retain that little squeak of fresh curds as you chew them. We learned the secret of there making from our server but I won’t reveal it here you can come and enjoy them for yourself and maybe find out. It was a great lunch with excellent food and service. Come to the Hillsboro Roadhouse if you are in the area of Hillsboro,WI you won’t be disappointed. Just to update my earlier review stopped in for an early Friday dinner and it was as good as the last time me and my 2 hunting companions were here I had the 2 piece fried cod which you can also get broiled it came with choice of potato and soup and salad which I chose my friends got the Roadhouse ham and cheese with the salad bar instead of potato and a cheeseburger with lettuce,tomato,raw onions and Swiss cheese with fries. We also wanted to try the Roadhouse onion rings. Once again as with our first meal here everything was excellent with the onion rings getting an extra thumbs up from all 3 of us. Great food great service once again you won’t be disappointed I dont believe.

This restaurant/tavern is attached directly to the hotel, and I was very happy about that after having spent all day bicycling the Elroy-Sparta Trail. The bacon cheesburger was outstanding, and the fries were the best I’ve had in a very long time.

Very good food, we had philly cheese steak wrap, chicken wrap, bourbon burger and prime rib. Appetizers were pork bourbon bites and cheese curds. And grilled cheese and fries for the little one. Very good waitress ,.and.salad bar was full. Pleasant atmosphere. Only suggestions, is no salt on the kids fries .

There is some remodeling going. All will be great touches to add to the atmosphere. Our waitress was kind and prompt as she could be. She was super busy attending to all the tables. It’s a well like place. Many food options and very tasty.
Great salad bar that was fresh with many choices.

I loved my Better Than Chicago Italian Beef! So tasty! I will be back again to have this sandwich. Very big and taking the other half home.

Burger was good but ordered well done fries and they came rock hard crunchy. The soup on the salad bar was so salty it was inedible. Just not a great value considering.

I give a place a few chances in case it’s an off night. I am not going back again. This time I ordered fried shrimp and a bacon cheese burger. The sealed cocktail sauce was busted open and spilled all over and the shrimp were tiny and rubbery. The burger well I gave it to my dog. 31 dollars plus gas wasted

I have brought my family here 2 times and both times fries was cold and we got no refills. This second time giving this restaurant a benefit of the doubt cuz the first time we went on a Friday and the second time it was a Wednesday night. Not very busy being a Wednesday and fries and onion rings was cold. The ribs was lukwarm, the milk was sour both times they brought it to us. They didn’t even recognize how the food was cold. Costing 94 bucks not worth it.
