Hillsboro Public House is a great spot for a satisfying meal in a relaxed setting. I ordered the Hillsburger with fries, and it did not disappoint. The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly, with fresh toppings that really brought everything together. The fries were hot, crispy, and generously portioned. Friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend to others.

Amazing food. Have come for dinner and brunch, both equally delicious. The service is always great. We came when they had live music which was a treat and on a quieter evening which was nice too. I always enjoy checking out the art they have. Much of it for sale.

Pet Friendly in really nice back patio.

Finally was able to make it to them when they were open. It was worth the wait. This place is fantastic in every way. Nice patio seating out front (no alcohol on front porch). Inside is completely amazing. Very nicely decorated. I had to have their version of Mozzarella sticks. They are amazing. And huge. The marinara that accompanies them was fantastic. They have an above average bourbon selection for around here. I screwed up and ordered a pre-made cocktail. Clearly marked but I missed it. I had one of those pre-mixed cocktails. It was better than expected. We both ordered burgers. Local beef. Huge. Tasty. They had some great homemade pie selections that weren’t usually on menu…. strawberry rhubarb, lemon chess and coconut cream. We got a couple of pieces to go. Our server was so nice and so patient.

The best place to grab a bite in Hillsboro. Great atmosphere, and the food is amazing. The beef is fresh and local, and they occasionally have live music. It may be difficult to get a table around the holidays, however.

the Garlic alfredo has hardly any garlic in it and many of the options weren’t exactly full of flavor, it is a beautiful atmosphere and a nice restaurant, decent prices and good selections

So many reasons to love the Hillsboro Public House! The service and atmosphere are charming and the food is exceptional. While the menu is rooted in comfort/diner food, every dish is elevated with culinary flair, with many locally sourced and homemade items. The burger is one of the best I’ve had in the region. Overall, you can just tell pride and care go into every offering.

Fantastic service, food, and atmosphere! The young man taking care of us did an excellent job. We ordered the Rosewood sticks and would highly recommend them! Generous portion of crispy, cheesy goodness served with a marinara that tasted homemade. I had the soup du jour, which was an excellent sausage kale soup that was so tasty, it was impossible not to pick up the bowl and have a sip.
I had the jerk chicken, and he had the meatballs. Both were very tasty, filling, and satisfying. The jerk chicken was perfectly spicy. We highly recommend the garlic bread too!

We ordered stinky fries, wings and tiarmissu to go.
Stinky fries were covered in fresh, spicy garlic and lots of buttery sauce. They were delicious with some ranch and Bleu cheese to dip.
Wings were good and hot too!
Tiarmissu was so incredible, I wanted to call and order a whole pan. Who would have thought the best tiarmissu you can find is in Hillsboro!

Everything, right down to the dishes we were served on was thoughtfully done and perfect. We are eager to return!

I traveled all over the western half of West Virginia, passively looking for good food while I did so. Rarely did I find it. I finally made my way to the Hillsboro area and found the best food I’ve had in 3 days. Staff was exceptionally friendly. There was a long wait for food(45+ minutes), but they are a small business, so we give them a break. Please stop by this place if you have any regard for your palate at all, and have a phenomenal Hawk Knob cider while you wait.

We were driving through the area in our camper, looking at real estate and decided we did not want to cook later. I first walked in to ask if dogs were allowed, I was told no. But as I walked out, I was then told about a back patio. I walked out to consider the patio but decided it was too cold. My partner took our dog back to the truck. I then walked in and was greeted by the same person who politely asked if I had chosen outside, I explained I would dine inside for two. There were only two, 2 person tables available. One next to a large party and the other not cleared, I then asked if the bar was available, was told yes. I sat down was delivered a food menu, I asked for the draft list and was then told she couldn’t take my order and she would get another person. Understandably, sometime later, a woman approached told me she would be right with me and then proceeded to seat two other gentlemen who had simultaneously walked in as she approached. Instead of serving me and asking them to wait, she sat them and then got them a beer! She then came back to the area looking right at me and picked up the ringing phone. Instead of asking them to hold, she then asked Brian on the other line if he minded waiting an hour for what was going to be his phone order. I waited to see if she would say to him to please hold and at least take my drink order. Nope, and I left.

Additionally the Pocahontas Sheriff passed us as we drove into Hillsboro at least a few miles back, on the way out of Hillsboro the speed drastically dryops and then went up to 55, they had pulled over a person who had been clearly trapped.

Given the Sheriff’s department patrols of the area, I highly doubt you should even have a cold one there.

Turns out the camp fire pizza was probably better anyway.
