My husband and I traveled up to Wisconsin to do some hiking and we wanted to support local places to eat. This was one of our very favorite spots for the whole trip just because of how down-home America it felt inside. The owners clearly care about their business and were very attentive to all the customers while we were there. The food was just what we needed after a long hike. This is a great stop if you are going on a pleasant drive through Amish country or on your ATV and just need a good spot to get a bite to eat or something to drink. Definitely enjoyed getting to chat with some of the local people who also were very friendly, in addition to the owners. We enjoyed the conversation and stories. You don’t find an authentic spot like this every day. We were glad we got to stop in and experience real Wisconsin. 🙂

I was told to go to Villa Inn instead for food and I’m glad I didn’t.
We got into town later that expected and were looking for some food on a Friday night. They do fish from 4-9. I called a little before that to see if they’d be able to help us out. We got there a bit after 930p and I went in to place our order. I sat down at the bar – there were about 7 others seated – and Kyle, the owner, came over within seconds. He provided me with a menu to take or to the car, I returned and he promptly took my order.
I was waiting for my food (2 orders of chicken tenders and some fried cod) and I was invited to play some version of bar dice. The entire stop was a fun experience. I was welcomed, taken care of and my food was ready to go in less than 15 minutes.
I would recommend this place. I was surprised at the wuality and taste of the fish. The fries were good. The chicken tenders I tried had good flavor and a nice crunch. My photos were taken in the car.

I sit here shaking my head, trying to figure out what I liked best here…my burger was good and my friend’s chicken sandwich was awesome! Then I think about how welcoming and friendly they were! Even the other customers were so welcoming. The Friday fish fry is very worth it, starts at 4, being such a small place a wait can happen. I highly recommend a visit, and I can’t wait to get back here again.

Got carry out fish on a Friday night… We ordered two 3 piece cod & a blue gill… it was all very greasy & had that taste like the oil hadn’t been changed in the fryer for a while.
Don’t recommend, don’t plan to return.

Our new favorite fish fry! So great to see perch and bluegill on the menu. The fish was outstanding, and a huge amount too. Loved the fried shrimp, and the fries! Added a little Cajun seasoning to the fish, very tasty. The service was great, everyone was so friendly.

We were camping at White Mound County park last weekend and wondered into town for a fish fry. Luckily we ended up at the Hillpoint Hideaway. The food was amazing. Fresh and fast. It was so good that we were talking about it the next day still. The owner came over and chatted with us and made us all feel very welcome. Great people and good food. Will definitely be back
