Great late night spot. Pizza was awesome… if u like modern Neopolitan-style. Crust w/ Charred edges , the sauce, and fresh mozzarella is what takes these over the top for me.

My kids suggested we go here for delicious pizza, sandwiches and appetizers. The pizza was cooked in a wood-burning oven, which made the dough fluffy, crispy with the slightly burned crust you get with this kind of fire. The Ceaser salad was great with thick chunks of cheese and light dressing. The service was great. I recommend this restaurant.

Both pizzas were on the thinnest gluten free crust ever, it felt like we were eating pizza on a saltine. The hillcrest pizza had raw egg on it – couldn’t eat it. The egg white part was so raw that it was clear still and the whole thing jiggled as the box moved.
I thought the arugula salad was fantastic until I felt myself crunch into something hard – it was a metal staple!!! Imagine if I had swallowed that. Will not be ordering from here again. Extremely disappointed.

The pizza is absolutely phenomenal here! The crust is crispy, chewy, and thin but sturdy enough to support whatever you choose to top it with. The Caesar salad was refreshing and perfectly dressed. The service has been fast and friendly every time we’ve stopped by – once we tried it we were hooked! Love that everything is halal, take all your friends here❤️

I really love this place. It’s always very clean, and both the staff and the owners are genuinely kind, welcoming, and friendly. Every time I come here, I don’t feel like just another customer — I truly feel like part of the place.
Even when I stop by to pick up orders for deliveries, they always greet me with a warm smile and a positive attitude, which honestly makes a big difference.

Frequent business traveler who like to try local pizza restaurants . I quick search on Google had me looking for a small, hole in the wall pizza place. HillCrust looked interesting from the photos and reviews. A neat little place in a busy little downtown area. Note that you order inside and you sit in their courtyard area to eat. Has heaters for cool evenings. Neat vibe with an alleyway seating area. Music, clean, and entertaining. The Golden Goldenhill pepperoni, bacon with hot honey was ok. The Woodford crust was tasty, the meat was OK, the hot honey, although it was on the pizza you couldn’t taste it. Just disappointed with the lack of flavor. I did get to try the pesto chicken pizza and that had much more flavor.

All in all, a lovely pizza experience. The pizza was flavorful, hot, fresh, and authentically Neapolitan-style. I enjoyed this pizza solo, but if you happen to be with company I’d suggest ordering more than one pie, at least then you can try other varieties! Outdoor seating only. Small selection of soda and water in a cooler. Restrooms were very clean! Service was friendly and the pizza was done in ten minutes or so.
If you’re not from the San Diego area, a word to the wise on the parking situation in Hillcrest, it’s street parking only…good luck, you’ll see what I mean. Pay your meter, the meter cops check them often.

Just stopped in to get a margarita pizza from here and was a bit hesitant because I’ve never tried this place before. I’m glad I did because the pizza is fantastic. It came out looking exactly like the photos show on their Google page here and tastes awesome. I say “tastes” because I’m still eating it. 2 slices in and I thought it was worthy of getting a great review.
The crust is the most important part of a good pizza and this one nailed it. My only criticism is I’d like to see large size pizzas as an option. Maybe it is and I didn’t notice it but the only better than a great pizza is a larger great pizza.
If you’re in the area, and are a pizza snob like me, check this place out. You won’t regret it.

Wonderful little pizza shop. Gluten free crust was very nice as well as the traditional crust! Caesar salad was top notch and we enjoyed the original cheesesteak as well. Loved the little patio seating on the side; just the cutest! Service was very friendly.

Loved this place! We liked the atmosphere of the outside patio and the brick building where it houses the kitchen and counter to place orders. We got pizza and a philly cheesesteak sandwich for my family to share and we couldn’t stop raving about it. This will be our go-to HALAL pizza joint when we visit San Diego again. We also felt taken care of by the employees. Lastly, I was really impressed by a clean bathroom with a diaper changing table for my toddler – a bonus.
