Hilde’s food is like eating at home the way mom made it. But don’t tell your mom. She will get jealous. Hilde always goes above and beyond. Anytime we are sick or have a sick kid she whips up some chicken noodle soup for us. Always freshly made. Plus her lunch specials are always fair priced. I always tip 20%-30% because I feel she doesn’t charge enough. Don’t even get me started on the desserts. Always get yourself one.

Delicious Turkey Swiss grilled to perfection! Hilde is friendly and welcoming! We arrived a few minutes past grill closing, yet she offered up fresh deli or a hot sandwich (we said, “Yes, please!) Clean facility. Excellent choices for deli and extras. You’ll find Door County Coffee and Vern’s Cheese as she supports Wisconsin and locals! Home-made bread? It’s so great you’ll wanna take a loaf home for toast! Great idea for gifts – seasonal items and standards. A MUST-stop if you’re in the area…dine in, or picnic nearby.

Everything was very good, the chicken, Cole slaw, fresh fruit, Hawaiian grilled sandwich. Store area has a wide variety of items to purchase, i.e. salsas, pickles, cheeses, homemade noodles (many different flavors and shapes), seasoning mixes for many types of meals, including white chicken chili which I might buy next visit.
I love that there is such a wide variety of bottled sodas and such. We had Door County Cherry and Jarritos Pineapple sodas.
Definitely coming back.

Always love visiting Hilde’s. Especially like their fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, & mac n cheese. Their tuna & egg salad on crescents are very good too, as are their pizza & desserts. I appreciate the large & unique variety of glass bottle sodas, & always find something new to try. Went to my 1st painting night here, & everyone was so helpful & accommodating. Especially loved my moonshine I purchased, Strawberry Dream (looks like you’re drinking strawberry milk! Lol)

Stopped by for breakfast sandwiches. I had mine on their potato bread. Grilled perfectly! Sausage sooo good. The store has everything one would want for a delicious meal. Pizza, sweets, sandwiches, salads, lots of deli items including cheese spreads and a great variety of pop. We found Great Lake Cherry BBQ chips which we had been looking for since discovering them in Northern MI. Highly recommend stopping by. Hilde is very sweet. We enjoyed talking with her.

Lots of selection of packaged foodstuffs. We got a small loaf of rosemary bread, expecting it to be rather fresh (it’s a bakery), but we found out the bread had been frozen after making it, and we thought the bread was a bit dry for it. We got cheeses to eat from the store.

What a gem this bakery/deli is! Everything from fresh homemade salads, sandwiches and great snacks. Heading up to the U.P. And chose to make Chilton a stopping point. We had the best breakfast ever! Fresh ham & veggie omelette, apple fritters, fresh toasted bread….yum! Also had a chance to meet Hilde, who was a delight. Such a fun find. Can’t wait to visit again 🙂
