I recently visited Hikari Sushi & Teppanyaki and ordered the classic hibachi combo with chicken, steak, shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice. If you’ve been to a teppanyaki spot before, you know the experience is just as much about the show as the food — and that definitely held true here.

The service was fun and engaging. The chef brought good energy to the table, did the usual tricks, and kept everyone entertained while cooking. That interactive element is always a big part of why people enjoy teppanyaki, and they delivered on that front.

As for the food, it was decent but nothing particularly standout. The chicken was cooked properly, the steak was tender enough, and the shrimp had good flavor. The vegetables were fresh and not overcooked, and the fried rice was standard hibachi-style — flavorful but pretty typical. Overall, everything tasted fine, just not especially memorable or elevated.

In short, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for a fun dinner experience with friends or family. The entertainment and atmosphere carry the experience, while the food is good but nothing fancy. A dependable option when you’re in the mood for teppanyaki.

I had the Philly roll, ocean trout nigiri, smoked salmon nigiri and albacore nigiri. Every single piece of nigiri was so disgusting, and overly fishy, which is not a good sign. The Philly roll was sloppily made and didn’t have much salmon. What a colossal waste of money.

This cute little place was adorable. The service was a little slow, so I assumed they only had one person in the kitchen. The food was great, and the decor was beautiful with geshia pictures all over. The location is perfect for Eastside Vegas locals that love sushi and the add on of seafood boil items had me in heaven

I wanna like this place because I love sushi and it’s so close, but I’ve given it a few chances. 1st time we liked the food but when getting dessert. I took a few bites and got very very long hair in my mouth that was in the middle of my icecream. I was appalled and they gave a slight discount and, that was it.
Second time we went we were at our table after ordering there was a bug ON OUR TABLE, a Cockroach! My partner killed it with a napkin and even showed the waitress. It was absolutely disgusting and when we told the waitress all she told us “we’ve called the bug company” which that doesn’t help me, if there’s one there’s more. We got no discount and stopped ordering but had to pay for all you can eat. We left hungry, unhappy, and unsatisfied because the first time we really liked the sushi and wanted to give it another try but after finding a hair and a cockroach in their establishment I unfortunately haven’t gone back in months. I hope they fixed their cleanliness because the food was actually good.

Our waiter was very friendly.
At lunch on a Saturday, no one was eating, just us and a family waked in at the same time.
Salmon collars were good.
You’ll need to get premium $39 (per person) to get some items on the menu.
It looked like there were a lot of holiday deals.

Outstanding service thanks to Mikaela!

We had an amazing experience at this Japanese steakhouse, and a huge part of that was Mikaela. From the moment we were seated, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. She explained the menu clearly, made great recommendations, and kept everything running smoothly throughout the entire meal without ever feeling rushed or intrusive.

Mikaela’s timing was perfect — drinks were always refilled, courses came out at just the right pace, and she checked in exactly when needed. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in her work. Her positive attitude and attention to detail elevated the entire dining experience.

The food was fantastic, but the service is what truly stood out. Mikaela is a major asset to this restaurant, and we will absolutely be asking for her again on our next visit. Highly recommend!

I frequent a lot of the local sushi spots in the area, and thankfully a great friend of mine invited me here. The staff treated him and I like family. Delicious uni and quail egg. I maxed out their premium ayce. Definitely worth the money, but the service and atmosphere set them apart.

This is a pretty nice place, it has a good overall ambiance. It’s both all you can eat sushi and a hibachi grill. The quality of the food was great, I would prefer there are more signature dishes so all these sushi places don’t seem identical, but it’s on par with most of the other sushi places in town. The staff was also really good to us, I will definitely come back.

Hikari Sushi & Teppanyaki: Where Dinner Turns Into a Show

We rolled back into Hikari this past Saturday with friends—and let me tell you, it was a full-on flavor reunion. We hadn’t been in a while (moved to the south side, life happens), but the moment we walked in, it felt like coming home to a party we didn’t know we missed.

The sushi? Fresh, bold, and beautifully plated. The volcano roll was a spicy little masterpiece, and the salmon sashimi practically melted on contact. The teppanyaki side? Pure entertainment. Our chef had jokes, flames, and flying shrimp—plus that classic onion volcano that never gets old. We were laughing, cheering, and low-key filming half the meal.

Service was on point—friendly, fast, and genuinely fun. You can tell the team loves what they do, and it makes the whole vibe feel like a celebration. Whether you’re there for a birthday, a catch-up dinner, or just a treat-yourself night, Hikari delivers.

We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. South side or not—we’re coming back. Hikari’s got that magic mix of great food, great people, and great energy. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves sushi with a side of sparkle.

This place holds up against the upper echelon of Vegas sushi. My friend ordered jalapeño poppers and I though, “man why get some basic fast food”. Wow was I wrong. Crab stuffed and topped in caviar, forever changing what I think of jalapeño poppers.
Great selection of classic and also different variations of things you’ll absolutely love.
