Pulled up for a nightcap feeling cute, car shining, ready for a smooth moment. I eased into the valet area and… nothing. No valet. No attendant. Just vibes and confusion. I called and spoke with the front desk to let them know there was no valet present and asked if someone could be sent out or if I could temporarily leave my car in the valet space. Instead of assistance, I was met with indifference. I was told I “needed to speak with a valet” before leaving the car. That would have been lovely… if there had actually been one available to speak to. When I asked how I was supposed to locate this invisible valet, there was no real solution offered. No urgency. No ownership. Just energy that said, “figure it out.” Since it was becoming more effort than ambiance, I asked her to cancel my reservation on OpenTable so it wouldn’t count as a no show. Do you think that was handled? Nope! She couldn’t even bother to do that. It gave lazy. For a place that positions itself as elevated, the first touchpoint completely missed. A warm greeting and basic problem solving would have changed the entire tone of the evening. Instead, it started and ended in the valet lane.

We chose to eat here as it was the middle ground for us to meet up. I haven’t been here since they changed restaurants. The interior was very nicely designed and had a great ambiance. The bartender/server was friendly and helpful throughout our meal. We ordered some wings and the pastrami sandwich to share. The wings were ok, not as crispy as what I’m used to. The pastrami sandwich, however, was tasty. I did like the dip that it came with. Overall, it was a pretty decent experience, and I would come here again.

Had some excellent cocktails made by both Josh and Cekais. We had lunch at the bar and they gladly chatted us up and made drinks to our taste. Was VERY happy to have craft cocktails a few floors down from our room.

Great spot for Happy Hour, albeit a bit spendy! The drinks and service were FANTASTIC!! The food… Above average.. the wedge salad was very small and had very little bacon/tomato/dressing, etc, fries were spot on, but wings …. Do not order. They have some odd breading that turns to mush We will go back, and try a few more happy hour items before I make the splurge for $36 crab cakes

Extremely disappointed, this is easily the worst food I’ve gotten from a restaurant ever. The salmon was burnt, how do you burn salmon?! The noodles were extremely salty. The brussle sprouts were almost all crumbs and were also burnt. The only thing that tasted decent were the fries and the Pepsi.
If I ate at the restaurant I would have sent it back, but unfortunately I’m stuck with the food and the bill.

Here it goes I’m an employee of a major airline who overnight here in Portland. My coworkers have boasted and bragged about CK…a bartender with an amazing personality and a great conversationalist. I’m a huge fan of the drink “old fashion” I’ve had them all over the country with New Orleans being the best, but wait CK made me an exceptional old fashion with love dignity and passion… I will forever be a fan of the old fashion here… thank you CK with much appreciation… your the best!!!!!!!

Got in late (flight delay). Staying at the Benson but their food options end at 10pm during the week (11 is better for business travelers coming west Benson). Only options were a pizza joint and High Horse. Open til midnight. Burger was solid, fries were good and bartender Kelsey was the BEST! great attitude and fun. The vibe is cool in here too. Will be back when I’m in town!

I’d never been to Portland and was nervous to visit because of things I’ve heard. But despite that…thanks to Jared, a top notch professional, my first memory of the city will always be of kindness and excellent service. My sisters and I loved coming to high horse! The food and drinks were top quality. We had such a great time there. The ambiance was perfect for kicking off our girls trip. Jared gave my group one of the best service experiences ever. We are so grateful! Now I’m excited to share my positive experience of the city thanks to a friendly and kind interaction. I’ll be back!
