Social Profile:

After years of recipe development High Desert Brewing Company opened its doors in July of 1997 and quickly became one of New Mexico’s premier brewpubs. Our selection of hand-crafted lagers and ales are produced on premises using the finest grains and hops. We brew small batches of about 200 gallons, ensuring that each beer is served at the peak of freshness. We make every effort to keep a variable selection of eight to ten beers on tap at all times, but occasionally your favorite may not be available for a few days. These are the perfect times to stretch your taste buds and take the opportunity to try something new. Please let Bob, Donna, or any of the High Desert Brewing Co. staff know how you think we are doing!

The beer, which is the main character, was top notch. Everything I tasted was delicious, and there were some unique flavors, too! The Black Lager was my favorite. The service was excellent. I visited on a cold day in mid-February with my dog, and the manager set us up outside with a heater, water and a hotdog for my pup, and was great about checking in on us. I definitely recommend a visit of you’re into craft beer and a wholesome, humble brewery vibe.

Stopped here on my way back from El Paso. Fantastic food, we didn’t wait to take a picture of our giant “medium” size nacho’s. We can’t wait to come back.

Nice neighborhood brewery with decent food at reasonable prices. Great for a lowkey Saturday afternoon or even a date night. Indoor seating offered right now (March 2021), but with plenty of social distancing. Two nice patios as well. Worth a try!

Loved the Octoberfest Beer with brat and onion rings. My friend, who doesn’t usually ‘like beer’ enjoyed the peach wheat and the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado club with sweet potatoe fries. Friendly service. Food arrived quickly and perfectly hot and crispy on a busy night. They have a nice outdoor patio that is covered from the elements.

Excellent choice of beers. Oktoberfest was the best. Service was mediocre because they were so focused on locals, us visitors didn’t get anything answered. Maybe next time. Later.

If you like craft beer this is a must stop at place. As far as I know they don’t distribute their beer. You can only buy it here or take away in kegs or growlers. VERY reasonable prices based on the quality of the beer. They also have amazing food. All the food is good and all the beer is good to excellent! Update: The food prices continue to be incredibly reasonable to this day! See the”small” nachos in the photo.

High Desert is a Southwest treasure, the menu is awesome, although I’d skip the nachos. Only drawback currently is due to Covid seating is only on the patio and very limited. Other than that, try the Octoberfest brew it’s spectacular. Currently their menu is to go only as per State of New Mexico orders.

Nothing really good or great about this place. There was no air on inside so we sat outside. Had the Dark Bock and Copperhead beer. Neither was unique or outstanding. One of the women working there had a very sarcastic attitude about her, that is when she would even acknowledge you. Very small location and parking can be a pain. Dont blink as you drive down the road. You may miss it buried behind leaves and branches off to the side. Food was fine, nothing great in that department either.
