Social Profile:

After years of recipe development High Desert Brewing Company opened its doors in July of 1997 and quickly became one of New Mexico’s premier brewpubs. Our selection of hand-crafted lagers and ales are produced on premises using the finest grains and hops. We brew small batches of about 200 gallons, ensuring that each beer is served at the peak of freshness. We make every effort to keep a variable selection of eight to ten beers on tap at all times, but occasionally your favorite may not be available for a few days. These are the perfect times to stretch your taste buds and take the opportunity to try something new. Please let Bob, Donna, or any of the High Desert Brewing Co. staff know how you think we are doing!

Loved the Octoberfest Beer with brat and onion rings. My friend, who doesn’t usually ‘like beer’ enjoyed the peach wheat and the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado club with sweet potatoe fries. Friendly service. Food arrived quickly and perfectly hot and crispy on a busy night. They have a nice outdoor patio that is covered from the elements.

Nice neighborhood brewery with decent food at reasonable prices. Great for a lowkey Saturday afternoon or even a date night. Indoor seating offered right now (March 2021), but with plenty of social distancing. Two nice patios as well. Worth a try!

High Dessert Brewing was an awesome place. Peach beer was awesome and food was also delish. But the location suffered a fire. Hoping they reopen soon.

If you like craft beer this is a must stop at place. As far as I know they don’t distribute their beer. You can only buy it here or take away in kegs or growlers. VERY reasonable prices based on the quality of the beer. They also have amazing food. All the food is good and all the beer is good to excellent! Update: The food prices continue to be incredibly reasonable to this day! See the”small” nachos in the photo.

The beer, which is the main character, was top notch. Everything I tasted was delicious, and there were some unique flavors, too! The Black Lager was my favorite. The service was excellent. I visited on a cold day in mid-February with my dog, and the manager set us up outside with a heater, water and a hotdog for my pup, and was great about checking in on us. I definitely recommend a visit of you’re into craft beer and a wholesome, humble brewery vibe.

High Desert is a Southwest treasure, the menu is awesome, although I’d skip the nachos. Only drawback currently is due to Covid seating is only on the patio and very limited. Other than that, try the Octoberfest brew it’s spectacular. Currently their menu is to go only as per State of New Mexico orders.

Clean & welcoming establishment serving tasty fare & brews.

We were passing through Las Cruces and after viewing their online menu we opted to stop here for dinner on our way through. Being vegan, I was grateful to find options that did not consist solely of ‘garden salad’, but it’s lovely that this is still an option. We ordered and enjoyed the Fried Veggie Basket as an appetizer and Veggie Burgers w/ Fries for our meals. Both were delicious and filling, we had plenty of leftovers for a snack the next day. There are a few other vegetarian & vegan options that should suit most; you will not leave hungry. Be sure and ask about their delicious condiments & sauces! I enjoyed the porter while my husband had the root beer – be careful with the root beer, it’s almost too amazing! 😉 Both were fabulous, something they are rightly proud to serve.

Contributing to the atmosphere was the music being played on the stereo. While I was unfamiliar with it, I enjoyed it enough to purchase some of the artists’ songs a few days later. (Oliver Tree, Beta, Orbital, Iration) Our server, also the DJ of the evening, was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. He was happy to make suggestions and swift to meet our needs and then some.

We look forward to stopping here again next time we find ourselves in the area.

Pros:
* Open on Saturday evening (unlike most other establishments in the area that serve food)
* Fantastic service
* Vegetarian/vegan options
* Excellent quality & selection of local brews
* Clean & well-kept

Cons:
* None noted

Excellent choice of beers. Oktoberfest was the best. Service was mediocre because they were so focused on locals, us visitors didn’t get anything answered. Maybe next time. Later.

Stopped here on my way back from El Paso. Fantastic food, we didn’t wait to take a picture of our giant “medium” size nacho’s. We can’t wait to come back.

I have two words for you. Mini mugs!! Plenty of options for all beer lover preferences and a nice patio. What really stood out here was the service.
