Wonderful tea shop and experience. Cozy atmosphere with wonderful decor, quality teas and sense of community.

I did the tea tasting and enjoyed all I learned as well as every sip.

The tea bar was busy with people coming and going and chatting with one another. Would suggest this as a stop with visitors or friends.

High Climate Tea in Asheville was honestly one of the most unexpected and life-changing experiences I’ve had.
My girlfriend surprised me with this trip for me and my family. I originally thought we were going for an English tea sitting, but it turned into a Chinese tea class… and wow — the miracle I never knew I needed. She must have been reading my soul because this experience unlocked something in me.
The atmosphere is incredible — very authentic Far East Chinese vibe that immediately pulls you into the culture and history of tea. The host was phenomenal. You can instantly tell tea isn’t just a job for him — it’s his passion, his craft, his life. Being surrounded by someone that knowledgeable and by other people who are just as passionate about tea is what really sold me.
As he started explaining the teas, I felt like a massive rabbit hole opened — in the best way possible. I visited about a month ago and I’m already an official tea enthusiast. Pu-erh has me hooked, and I find myself constantly thinking about oolong — especially the sweet Iron Goddess of Mercy.
Since visiting, I’ve already purchased my own tea set, a gaiwan (of course), and even a tea pet. I’m fully ready to keep exploring tea culture and experience the qi that comes with it.
This place is rare. Truly rare. You will have a very difficult time finding another tea experience like this, and that’s what makes it so special.
If you are even slightly curious about real tea culture — go. It might change you too.

Walked in while other tea flights were in process, customized our tea flight (tried at least 9 types of tea in a short period of time! 1 to decide whether to buy it), and learned lots in the process. Amazing experience I’d recommend to anyone interested in tea.
Also after the tea flight ($20 for 30 min, though I think we stayed much longer than that!), I liked how flexible he was with letting us buy small quantities to-go.

High Climate is one of the coolest places in Asheville, hands-down. The space is beautifully designed and a wonderfully relaxing place to hang out and enjoy a pot of tea. The incredible knowledge and excitement of the owner and staff makes the tea tastings a real event—give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the conversation and all the details about the history, science, and culture of tea! This is both a place I love to visit as a local and one of my go-to places for bringing visiting friends and family.

Go sit for a tea tasting & make sure to try the Blue People tea – now! The tea tender (not sure what the proper title would be for an individual serving tea) was FULL of knowledge. I think his name was Hunter. I was worn out from days of travel & the tea he recommended brought me back to life. I was hoping to stumble across a tea in Asheville that gave me magical powers, & it did just that. The tea eliminated every ounce of grouchy that I was feeling & helped me be a kind human the rest of the day. 10/10 experience. Beautiful setting.

Exceptional tea tasting!! If you enjoy tea, you MUST visit! Employees are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about of every aspect of Chinese Tea. I learned from an employee that the owner lived in China and spent years studying tea. Therefore, the quality of this tea is amazing!! And I am a huge tea snob. I love this place! The owner purchases each batch of tea directly from local farmers in China, ensuring the highest of quality! I am not a big Chinese tea fan, but this store made me into a big fan! My favorite tea was the Iron Goddess.

I’ve been here 3 times and enjoyed the experience, tea and atmosphere. However the last time I went they did not have any food (including any counter snacks) and today, despite the front doors being open, their tea room was closed- likely through January (but not clear). So no option to stay and have a private convo – which meant having to change plans entirely after meeting my mom there. Fine if you want the bar service or are just buying tea. Will bump back up to 5 stars when it gets a little more consistent- but want to prevent others the inconvenience of parking downtown if you want a table there this January.

We had an exceptional experience here! I read about this place on Google and then we decided to stop in. We ended up staying almost 2 hours. Did not feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. We enjoyed our tea flight and learned so much. Will definitely stop in here again for the great customer service, calming vibes, and atmosphere. Note: food service and tea lounge is closed as a result of Helene and staffing.

This was a recommendation from multiple traveling friends and family. We completely enjoyed our experience. This was our first time in so we did the tea tasting. It was very fairly priced and we gained a ton of knowledge. The owner, Hunter (I believe), seemed to really be in his element and didn’t seem uncomfortable holding court.
We were very happy to find out they ship tea all over the world.

Such a fun experience! We did a tea tasting, and with every sip, I could feel myself becoming healthier. 🙂 The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and shared all about how he sources the teas from China, how they’re made—the whole shebang. I highly recommend stopping by this beautiful tea shop. Don’t worry if you’re new to tea—I didn’t know much either, and I loved it! We purchased a bunch of teas.
