The food here is outstanding. I’ve had the short ribs, the lobster pasta, and even the Caesar salad—everything was excellent. The Brussels sprouts were easily the best dish I had during restaurant week, and I’ve been here multiple times because the food and drinks never disappoint.
That said, the service is consistently terrible. I understand the need to turn tables and stay on schedule, but this goes far beyond efficiency. On more than one visit, the service felt rushed and careless. At one point, while we were still actively eating, our waitress asked if we needed boxes—clearly trying to move us out.
I’m not being nitpicky; it’s genuinely that bad. I’ll likely return because the food is that good, but only if you’re willing to tolerate truly poor service. If great food and drinks matter more to you than the dining experience, then this place is worth a visit—but be prepared for disappointing service.

Also, they add tip onto your bill so just know that you’re tipping that 20% regardless of how anything turns out.

Came here for restaurant week! The mood lighting was cute (which is usually the theme in west loop) and everything we tried was 10/10! Our waiter was so accommodating and nice! Definitely will be back!

Food + desserts we tried:
-Caesar Salad
-Ravioli
-Braised Short Rib + Cauliflower (is spicy!)
-Tiramisu (comes shareable)

Drinks we tried:
-SAFE WORD
-DESPERADO

Tried this restaurant for the first time during restaurant week. The service was attentive and friendly. We ordered the croquetas which were very good 9/10, followed by the Parisian Gnocchi, which could have been better 7/10, and Spanish octopus which came with potatoes 8/10. The ultimate star of the show was the Tiramisu, which was probably the best tiramisu I’ve tried anywhere, I would go back for the sake of the tiramisu alone.
Great modern/classy atmosphere, great service, great food, ultimately worth checking out if you’re in the Fulton market area.

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of dining in and being served by Nick! We were quickly sat, and our coats were taken to keep them out of the way. Nick was quick and knowledgeable about the menu. We went with many of his recommendations and our favorites were the French Onion bread appetizer and the short rib entree! We also enjoyed the hamachi, sticky ribs, and fried artichokes. Nick started us off with celebratory shots for our engagement and we enjoyed some of the seasonal cocktails like the peppermint espresso martini shortly after. The food was OUTSTANDING and the drinks were hard to top! Nick ended our night with a surprise sparkly dessert. We will absolutely be coming back when we return to Chicago. Thank you so much Nick for the wonderful night!

Hide + Seek in Chicago brings that perfect mix of cozy and upscale. The warm wood ceiling, chandeliers, and moody lighting make it feel intimate and stylish the kind of place you want to linger with good company and a glass of wine.

✨ The Food:
The pasta was amazing rich, buttery, and full of flavor, easily one of the highlights of the night. The fries were crispy, golden, and seasoned perfectly classic comfort done right.

The Experience:
The service was great attentive and genuinely friendly, adding to the easygoing yet elevated vibe of the evening. It’s a spot that feels thought-out in every detail, from the textures on the walls to the creative lighting overhead.

Hide + Seek in Chicago strikes a great balance between laid-back and upscale. The ambiance features warm wood tones that make the space feel intimate, perfect for date nights or a girls night out. The food was well-seasoned, beautifully presented, and very enjoyable, though the portions were on the smaller side.

I also loved the cocktail selection and how thoughtfully the drinks were made. Our waitress was kind, helpful, and pleasant overall, though not very attentive at times (she didn’t offer to take our coats, which wasn’t a big issue).

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. It’s cute, stylish, and tasty.

We went after a late night concert around midnight. Service was great but she did advice us that the window for food was closing and we should order promplety. We opted out on cocktails because they were a bit pricey for our taste. I ordered a coke and my partner had water. We started with the Pear and kale salad, it was delicious, fresh and refreshing. The croquetas were very flavorful the short ribs with the jamon and cheese gave it a moist and delicious texture with the outside being perfectly fried and crispy. The Grilled oyster was our favorite starter it was fresh and perfectly grilled with a nice hit of spice cheese and toasted breadcrumbs. We shared the Lumache for dinner the sausage was delicious with a nice balanced flavor that tasted fresh vodka sauce was delicious and creamy however the herb ricotta was just a tap bit overpowered by the lemon that was added to it, other than that delicious dish. Over all we had a fantastic dinner with really great ombionce inside. The bussers made sure our water was always filled which was great. Would come back to try some items on the menu.

We had such a great experience at Hide + Seek! The oysters were incredible—fresh and perfectly prepared—and the Safe Word cocktail was hands down one of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time. Marykate, the manager, came by to check on us and truly elevated the experience. They were so accommodating, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. You can really tell when a place is run by someone who cares. Can’t wait to come back!

Such a beautiful place. Hide & Seek was an incredible place. Very intimate, Candle lit tables, dim lighting with the beautiful art that covered the entire walls. Very classy.
Staff were very kind. Was greeted and seated by my waiter Angela. She was very polite and helpful. She made kindly suggestions of her favs and took care of me the entire night with Grace.
Menu and drinks were pretty simple. I ordered the Braised short rib with mashed, asparagus and Lumache. Along with my perfect margarita called “Safe Word” Dinner was delicious. The pasta was so creamy and flavorful. My braised rib was so juicy and tender it completely fell apart as I spooned my mashed potatoes! It was freaky delicious! It wasn’t too crowded food was great and the music was definitely a VIBE! I will Indeed be back again! Check em out!

We came to HIDE + SEEK for anniversary drinks and dinner. It was so good that we came back a couple of nights later for a casual dinner. The service was fantastic both times and the staff made the experience feel special.

The cocktails were excellent. The Long Weekend quickly became my favorite, and we also enjoyed the Hanky Panky, Vesper Martini, and B&T. The food was just as memorable. The burrata with a touch of cinnamon was a standout, the braised short ribs were tender and flavorful, and the Carmelle pasta was rich and delicious. Even the smaller plates like the crispy artichokes and brussels sprouts impressed us. We finished with tiramisu and a warm cookie that were the perfect ending.

Between the drinks, the food, and the atmosphere, this is a place that works for both a celebration and a relaxed night out. We cannot wait to come back again.
