The Hideaway Bar is Orlando’s go-to for a no-frills, party time with a drink. We have bottled beer, mixed drinks, & canned seltzer (why do you drink these?)

WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT….. I used to love Hideaway Bar, but ever since they moved its turned into every other bar that you can find. The original location was a dive bar and thats what made it unique and stand out as well as their wings.
I went this past Saturday afternoon and there was no hostess. After 15 minutes a server finally came up to me and my friend and said they would be right with us. The server took our order, but after that I never saw him again. Somehow he went from server to behind the bar??? My food came out and my chili cheese fries had no cheese. After 10 minutes my friend was finally able to get a server to correct our order. Instead of making new fries for us they just gave us a cup of cheese to add to our now cold fries. The wings needed more buffalo sauce barely coated in it.
I was on the “Think about it podcast” and gave this place a great review, but now I wish I never did as it doesn’t live up to the previous excellent standards since moving to the new location.

I unfortunately had to delete my previous glowing review of The Hideaway from a couple of years ago when it was across the street back when it was a charming little dive bar full of character and good energy.
We’ve given the new Hideaway multiple chances thinking maybe we just caught it on an off day or ordered the wrong things but our most recent visit sealed it for us we won’t be returning. The food service and overall experience were incredibly disappointing. I completely understand being short staffed, but the attitude from the waitstaff was shockingly rude and uncaring. At one point, I didn’t even want to bother our waitress again for a to go box so I started wrapping my half eaten hot dog in a napkin only for her to snap, “I’ll get you a damn box!” Not to mention the food was way below sub par every time we have recently visited. We also waited ages for basic things like drink refills and especially for the check. When our friend finally walked over to ask for it he was completely ignored.
It’s such a shame because the new building itself is modern and nice but it’s lost all the charm friendliness and affordable dive bar feel that made the old Hideaway so special 🙁

There’s a few things I can say about this place, but mostly I can say, I came here during my heart transplant journey for their food. The staff had grown to know me and help support me when I was in the deepest of trenches. I was facing life and death situations and not know what was happening next in my life. They were a constant when I needed stability. The staff supported me and my husband, got to know us, and helped us through the entire process. The food is amazing, the owner and staff are amazing, and the ambiance they bring to the bar and grill has the ability to have anyone relax to their full potential.

Love this place! I’m new in town, and I’ve found that this is the best bar/food spot in the area. The food is great (they make an amazing burger), the drinks are great, and the prices are very very solid. Service is fantastic too. I came in today having a somewhat cruddy day, but Shayla cheered me right up! She brought all my stuff to me with record speed, and it felt like she was actually listening and interested in conversing with me. This place is great, and another shoutout to Shayla (although the other bartenders are great too, I just haven’t learned their names yet).

I love hide away Shannon is the best she’ll take care of you for a smile. You can stay for a while and next thing you know you’ve been drinking for a mile. John knows how to get it on. It doesn’t matter what you’re on. He’ll serve you like a marathon. Sammy will give you the double whammy and next thing you know you’re gonna need a moon over your hammy. Alex is the best next. Do you know you think you’re eating Tex-Mex but Hideaway is the best. Claudette, what have you feeling like you’re a vet but it doesn’t matter you always pass the test. I’ll tell you a story about Torey she made me feel about a boy named Corey who messed the world and a beautiful girl named Topanga. let me tell you when I stay in my lane I like to drink with my boy James. it doesn’t matter if you need the nanny my boy cooking in the kitchen with a bad name Danny. if you feel silly, you better order from Willie because you drink a Bud Light and then get it dilly. If you feeling study, and you hurting, dont worry, we fly right with Birdie, she make me feel younger than thirty. i never leave hurting
but the really, hideaway is the place to make you feel like your apart the place.

I was here on Saturday with a couple friends-I have a gluten/wheat allergy and majority of the items on this menu is filled with gluten. I didn’t want to get a salad so I went to go get a gluten free pizza at another restaurant. I still made sure to order a drink and my table ordered drinks and food. So regardless, we were still giving them business. I had a lady approach me about it-saying I wasn’t allowed to have the pizza due to the manager’s policy. Which I totally understood-I apologized and explained to her my allergy and that the menu is full of gluten. The lady then explained: “Well we have salads so.” For those with a gluten allergy, the amount of salads we consume is majority of the time and today I simply didn’t want a salad. The lady came back and immediately singled me out in front of my friends saying that the manager contacted her asking why I had a pizza at the table. She then informed me the manager is wanting to add gluten free items and asked what I would like to see-I then told her it would be great if they had gluten free buns for their burgers-the lady then VERY passive aggressively told me “Well most girls get it without the bun.” Then why did you ask me what kind of gluten free items I would like to see?
I’m never coming back here-the passive aggressiveness from the lady alone completely ruined the vibe at my table, we closed out our tabs not to long afterwards, her singling me out in front of everyone over a food allergy I cannot control was beyond me. Even my friends around me were apologizing that she did that to me. I got completely embarrassed. Never ever again.

Even tho I heard this place has been around many moons; they just relocated across the street to a brand new spot. It’s super cool and nice for a dive/ish bar. Starters the parking is in back just a heads up and yes the back door is an entrance lol. I had to go pee like a race horse and the bathroom was sparkling (and there’s a TV?!?!) The staff was very local and friendly, the food was priced very daily and almost on the cheap side for today’s standards. I got the patty melt, my fri dns got the BLT, and the Bacon Cheese Burger, and we shared some Toto’s… that said our food came with house made chips which were really good (we prolly didn’t need the tots). So no body is perfect and we (me & my friends) debated on 4 or 5 starts… we arrived at like 1:30ish and it was a shift change and were a little ignored; we didn’t feel this was the norm or intentional but I like to be 100% honest sin my posts. Once we moved to the bar from our high top and made contact with the next shift, everyone was very attentive and we loved them. This is def a spot I’ll be revisiting and recommend! Only recommendation would be to state your drink prices and beer specials (at least the menu I got had no prices for bottles, buckets, drafts, wells, shots) the black board with specials was the only place they had these and so I ordered one and you did not have it… I asked for a draft beer as the same price as the beer on special and was laughed at… not cool. But u have next time took keep the 5 star

Chef Danny and all the staff are so kind. Stopped by here on Thanksgiving and Danny & the kitchen team made an entire potluck style Thanksgiving buffet for patrons to enjoy. Not many establishments would do something like this and I just wanted to shout him out 🙂 Thank you for making our Thanksgiving so much fun, hideaway staff! Also enjoyed the wings & beer!!

This place was cool. I think his name was Jeremy or something but he was very welcoming and kind of gave us the rundown about the food and how things worked out there knowing that we were new in town. Our server whose name I have forgotten unfortunately was super nice and super friendly. Everybody there was very cool. There were servers and managers coming by that weren’t even helping us that were asking me if we needed anything. We will certainly come back here.
