Nice atmosphere! My dine in experience was not good! All our food came out cold while waiting over 1 hour.

Hidden Gem is a little restaurant on the ground floor on a high rise on 9 mile. Easy to miss if you’re not looking for it!
The inside of the restaurant is nice, it’s well decorated and cozy.
The menu is a little limited but has everything you’d expect for a little date night restaurant. A bit of a soul food vibe. The portions were not good for the cost and everything was a little too salty and overly buttery for my taste. I had the goat curry and my wife had the wings which were good but ended up being like $4 per wing which is a little ridiculous.
Service was good, our waitress was nice and attentive but the restaurant was entirely empty.

Hidden Gem is just that! It is definitely a vibe. From the atmosphere, the music and the service. The curry goat was AMAZING as was the jerk chicken and turkey chops. My sister and I very much enjoyed sitting at the bar with the owner who was such a cool guy. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Very much a great vibe for a cute date night. I will definitely be back!

Where do I start!? I was on the hunt for a location to host my fiancees men only baby shower. My search stopped here! Kenny helped me every step of the way. He was very kind, informative and professional! He took his time to explain the menu, and options available. We decided to go with the buffet style dinner for 20 gentlemen. He allowed me to bring in my own alcohol, cake, decor and beverages. The service was amazing, as told by my fiance and the food was absolutely to die for! They had an amazing time, and didn’t want to leave! Thank you again for such amazing service! I will definitely be back to enjoy on a more personal note❤️

It is a hidden gem and if you aren’t looking close you will pass it! You have to down some stairs to get to the entrance! The front door can be a little off putting, but once you go inside it is a really nice intimate atmosphere! The manager and the waitress were super nice and introduced themselves and made it clear they were there for anything we need! This is BYOB restaurant! They do not serve alcohol, but will let you bring your own! We both ordered steak bites (I ordered mine without mushroom), I ordered a Caesar salad, and he ordered French fries! The salad was good, I put ranch on it and it was almost to mayo like for me, but not terrible. The steak bites were a little overcooked, but they took care of it immediately and were very apologetic, but the sauce on the steak bites were absolutely amazing! The French fries were our favorite! They are steak fries and were nice and hot! Just delicious! We had a good time! Service was nice and the food came out fast! Give it a try! We didn’t regret it!

I hate leaving bad reviews. However, I would suggest replacing the cooks, changing the recipes or hiring culinary art students. The vibe of the restaurant is nice. The food is HORRIBLE. We had the salmon bites (very dry and did not come with a special sauce), fried whole chicken wings (greasy, still had feathers on them and no seasoning), Mac & cheese (no taste, cheese was like liquid and microwaved), candid yams (disgusting, taste like canned yams, butter and cinnamon) and mashed potatoes (they were good. Just needed seasoning). No liquor drinks but it’s BYOB. BYOB is a $5 corking fee. Refills on soft drinks is an additional charge. Gratuity is automatically added no matter how many is in your party. The staff was super nice and apologetic for our wait.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered food for takeout. I got the catfish dinner, alfredo, and jerk chicken. All dishes were flavorful, hot, and delicious. There were not many patrons in the restaurant. The location may not be the best for drawing new customers as it is easy to miss. But I will plan to visit again!

I’ve been twice recently-for dinner and brunch.
Dinner was great. The steak bites are yummy, the sauce was perfect. The pasta was also solid.
Brunch was good also. I wouldn’t recommend the crab cakes but the steak and eggs were good. Also had the catfish and grits which were my favorite thing!
Prices were reasonable. My app + entree was $50. Also it’s BYOB!!!!
