This is a nice ice cream spot off the beaten path. Awesome selection of flavors and styles of ice cream. And it’s a real cool building! Their food options looked great (breakfast sandwiches on huge NY bagels). But we were there for the ice cream, and we weren’t disappointed. Hey, it’s not cheap, but it’s quality ice cream and privately owned, so it’s worth it. Parking is a bit tight and seating outside was pretty limited when we were there. But no complaints here. If we’re ever out this way again, we’ll be back!

The Hickory Stick is hands down my favorite ice cream spot. Their mint chocolate chip is unbeatable — the perfect treat after a long week delivering mail at the post office. The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the ice cream tastes homemade and fresh every time. I look forward to the weekends just so I can stop by and enjoy a scoop (or three). Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves quality ice cream and great local charm!

booked this ice cream truck a year in advance for my wedding because I specifically wanted the full ice cream truck experience for my guests. Unfortunately, two weeks before my wedding, the owner cancelled because she did not have staff available and said she could not afford to close her ice cream shop that day.
While I did receive my initial deposit back, being cancelled on that close to my wedding date put me in a very stressful position. Other ice cream trucks in the area require booking months in advance, so finding a replacement on short notice was extremely difficult.
I was also disappointed in how the situation was handled. I was offered the option of just dropping off ice cream, but that was not what I had booked or envisioned for my wedding.
I understand that staffing issues happen, but cancelling a long-standing booking so close to a major life event was very frustrating. I would recommend future customers confirm staffing closer to their event date.

Accidentally stumbled across this place and am so glad I stopped to check it out! The service was fantastic and there were so many flavors of ice cream. They also had different kinds of treats in the shop if you wanted something else…but why wouldn’t you get ice cream

Laura and her team did an amazing job at our event with the ice cream truck. Plenty of flavors, options and toppings to choose from. Created special sundaes in honor of our daughter. Every single guest got at least one treat. The customer service and value for the money was unmatched. Will definitely consider again for a future event.

We have been going here since they opened. Recently the owners opened another store and ever since the lack of ownership supervision on site has lead to a lot of inconsistencies. The ice cream is great…it’s quality ice cream. They also do offer a wide variety but the “common” flavors they list on their site as regulars are not regular at all and vary. I have driven 20+ mins to go there, because the ice cream is really that good, only to be disappointed time and time again that my “regular” flavor is not offered that night. I have been told I can always call first but when you do they either don’t answer or make you feel as though you are interrupting their night by calling. The very young staff there (often just 2 high school aged girls) are usually very nice but portions are extremely inconsistent. Not quite Chipotle level but close. The image below is what I got when I purchased an $18 quart. When I got home I pushed the ice cream down and it barely was half the container. For $18?!?! As much as I love the ice cream I just don’t think I can support this store any more.
You will likely enjoy your dessert when you go your first time. If you go back for a second trip or more though don’t expect the same experience as the first time

Highly recommend renting The Hickory Stick’s ice cream truck for your next event. Laura went above and beyond to make sure my daughter’s 10th birthday was extra special. She even brought my daughter up onto the truck for us to gather around and sing happy birthday! The screams of pure joy when the kids (and adults) saw the truck pulling in the driveway was so worth it.
