I got the chili cheese fries and peach cobbler with ice cream. The fries were tasty, the restaurant was clean, and the service was fast and great. I will return. The main down side was that the peach cobbler wasn’t great unfortunately!

Very nice place to eat! Clean, spacious seats and friendly staff. Food was very good, except the coleslaw, which was tasteless. The chili and brisket were great with mild sauce in a side. Price is fair and worths the food.

The staff always does a good job here, even during a lunch rush! Can’t go wrong with any of the meats here, especially the brisket. Scalloped potatoes are a great Thursday! choice on Thursdays!

Went to the new Hickory River in West Champaign tonight for the first time. Honestly, I didn’t even realize that they had built one out there. It was excellent food as always, and the atmosphere was also very well executed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely returning, and if you’re out and about, it’s more than worth the visit.

Definitely ask them to double check your order when using the drive through. The manager had told us we shouldn’t have to check our order after pick up, but when you don’t you get burned. It’s not an option to drive back 16 miles to get the bbq sauce they forgot again or the coleslaw this time. This place is so inconsistent of putting the customer first. We don’t want a freebie next time we come to the restaurant we just want what we paid for.

The food is great! I had the pulled pork sandwich, ranch beans and chili. The chili was good with just a little bit of spice, the ranch beans were tasty with a good barbecue flavor but most importantly, the pulled park sandwich I had was tender, smoky and juicy. They don’t short you on the amount of meat you get on the sandwich either. If you’ve ever been to Paully’s BBQ in Arthur, their barbeque is about the best around, but now they’ve got a serious competitor having Hickory River at the Fields now open!!

I have pretty high expectations to this restaurant but it turns out just meet the average. The ribs are not juicy enough but a bit dry. The food is a bit pricy on the smokehouse combo, compared to the previous location or other stores in town. The sides are good tho.

We sat outside. The menu QR code didn’t work, I tried twice. We got menus, they had no prices on them. We ordered. We never got our iced teas. Our food came super fast, but everything was pretty cold. No butter came with the potato. We asked for some. It was in tiny packets, which was ok, but the potato wasn’t warm, so the butter didn’t melt. The only thing that was even close to being warm was the side of Mac and cheese, and it wasn’t hot, just sort of warm. Everything was also just sort of bland, though the cornbread was pretty tasty, if it had only been warmed a little and I would’ve gotten a little butter to go with it. We got our bill which was nearly 50 dollars for a half rack of ribs and the brisket meal. We actually wouldn’t mind paying that much if the food had been great, but it wasn’t. Sadly, we won’t be back.
