We had been told this restaurant was not the greatest but we are so happy we tried it for ourself! The ambiance, service and food was 10/10!! I have a dairy allergy and they went above and beyond to make sure I could eat the food. My server even double checked and was so accommodating! We will definitely be coming back! The food was so yummy and the service / atmosphere was amazing!

We absolutely loved our experience at Hickory & Oak! We went tonight for NYE, which was the night we met 28 years ago.
We loved everything we ate. The beer cheese and sausage dip was amazing! The 15 day dry aged NY strip to the salmon with bacon fried rice… melt in your mouth delicious. The Brussels sprouts and the mushrooms for sides were things I will crave and go back for. We didn’t make it to dessert, so we’ll go back to try those. Our waitress was fantastic! I was a bit cold, but we were seated next to the front entrance and we’d requested a booth that we didn’t get, but it’s a holiday and completely understandable. We are already planning to go again. The prices are also fantastic and the environment is so nice. I had read a few bad reviews, so I was a bit nervous. We live in Nashville and it was, hands down, the best food we’ve had. Amazing everything to Hickory & Oak!

The food is incredible! The most tender steak I’ve ever had (and my grandpa owned a meat packing and distributing plant!). The atmosphere was SO cool! Would love to know who built this place! BUT what really set it apart was the service – impeccable! Shane took such great care of our group as we celebrated the holidays with our company! He went above and beyond and was so knowledgeable about the menu items, flavors, and what paired best with our selections! Will definitely be back! Thanks Shane! You’re awesome!

They always have a great barstool special. My husband and I enjoyed going several times throughout the summer and most recently this past week even though it was cold outside they had heaters so we could still enjoy a meal on their patio. Drinks always great- food good. We had an issue with a very overcooked burger but they made a new one very quickly and the 2nd one was perfect. We’ve also done their chefs tables a couple of times. Thankful for this spot in BG!

The bacon cornbread is always exceptional, the entrees/desserts were wonderful, too. The server was not the best as it took him forever to do a table check and us to receive ketchup/pre bus/order dessert. My husband and I have been several times and this was the worst service. About halfway through our meal- a very large party of I’d say 24 sat in the same room as my husband and myself. We couldn’t even hear each other talk. It was terrible and we had to rush to leave because it wasn’t the environment we wanted to be in. The loudness took away from the pleasurable experience.

Our server, Shane, was phenomenal! My fiance and I enjoyed a dinner for my birthday, and it was the best experience I could have asked for! No problems, no concerns, great energy all around! Will definitely be back and will ask for Shane again!

The Mrs and I enjoyed our visit to Hickory & Oak. We had a reservation, and next time, I’ll have to request a booth or standard table. The Mrs is not fond of high top tables. Our server was on his game and suggested several items off the menu that was really good. We started with the skillet cornbread, it was good however just a little too sweet. I had the bourbon steak which was so good. The Mrs opted for the pork tenderloin it was cooked to perfection. We also requested a side of Brussel Sprouts. The Mrs tried the rich girl drink and she loved it. All in all it was a wonderful evening out and we really enjoyed it!!

Everything about Hickory & Oak was above and beyond our expectations. Arrived a little early, no problem, our table was waiting. Jordan was our server and he was top notch. Explained all of the details and made recommendations. We started with a couple of drinks, Old Fashioned was outstanding (a large variety of bourbon to choose from) then on to appetizers. Focaccia, wonton and pretzels with beer cheese. Wontons were by far the best, focaccia came in a close second and the pretzel and beer cheese and smoked sausage dip was 3rd, only because the cheese was cold and we prefer warm but the taste was very good. Next up we had an 8 oz filet and 16 oz boneless ribeye. Both were cooked to absolute perfection and melted in your mouth. Added some garlic/onion butter and it was delicious. We only have one side which was loaded mashed potatoes and they were very good. Jordan tried to talk us into the dessert special which was a banana split tower. Regrettably we did not ordrr it (we were stuffed) but I was able to get a pic. Definitely 5 Stars all around and will go back if we are ever back in Bowling Green.

This place is amazing!!!! Josh,Cody, Catrina and the rest of the staff was nothing short of (The Best) As soon as you walk in to this wonderful establishment, you know you have walked into a above and beyond professionalism!!! From the Best server to the most incredible food you can imagine!!! Chef Josh and crew has set the bar high for other establishments to follow!!! GOOD LUCK to whoever trys!!! Everything was perfect! The atmosphere, the service, the food! We had the House Focaccia, French Onion Soup, Elk, Steak Skewers w/ fries, Oyster Rockefeller and side of Button Mushrooms. All were Seasoned well and cooked to perfection! This was my first visit, and I’m sure to return. I highly recommend, as this is now my favorite restaurant in Bowling Green!
BTW, the French Onion Soup is the best I’ve had, against many others in the U.S. Ya gotta try it!
