I was not asking for a whole container. Simply to try it. It could have easily been placed on a spoon just to help me decide what I wanted as a first time customer. There no was no line, no one behind me. So this was confusing and upsetting. It was even more upsetting when I got home, tasted the sauce I randomly chose and did not like it.
Also, I paid extra to add other veggies and saw they put very little cabbage. Looking at photos from other orders, I definitely should have had the normal amount of serving for cabbage on top of the other veggies I paid extra for. I was not expecting them to put less cabbage.
1. Phone ordering: was very easy. Good order taker. Very clear English and pleasant to speak to.
2. Scheduled my pickup for a time so my food would be as fresh as possible. I arrived early and they began my dish.
3. Unfortunately, they are “Express” for a reason. Freshly cooked is actually freshly scooped hot food sitting in a vat for a long time.
4. I ordered Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi with extra chicken ($6 extra). I ordered with onions ($1 extra) and zucchini ($1 extra).
5. I arrived home minutes later and the food was still very hot. I was expecting a nice, hot fresh dinner.
6. The food was still hot, however, the chicken was incredibly dry. Tough to chew little bullets that were difficult to swallow. The shrimp was not as tough but it also lacked flavor. The rice was sorta mushy in spots and hard in others because it sat around in a vat.
6 pm on a Friday night I expected food turnover quicker (and thus fresher food) but sadly wasn’t the case as I was served expensive protein that had been sitting too long.
7. I added salt. I dumped in half of my yum yum sauce and the ginger ($1 extra) and the dish finally started to taste like a Hibachi even though the chicken and shrimp were not fresh or well seasoned.
8. I ate as much as I could stand and in 10 minutes could not stand anymore and dumped into the garbage.
9. $28 not well-spent.
I guess I should’ve known if you want fresh tastey Hibachi you have to go to a Japanese steakhouse instead because despite these reviews, this food was terrible.
Too many other options to dine in the area to return.
Everything was so fresh and the vegetables were crisp..OMG THAT YUM YUM SAUCE
It was the perfect consistency and taste
I ate it 2 days in a row and want more…go there now!
