I’m not sure what they’re doing in that kitchen fr but they need to stop. Immediately. The “crispy” chicken wasn’t even crispy and lacked flavor. Ordered steak and didn’t even get it. Instead got another scoop of white rice. The only thing good in this plate was the plain rice…and that me being generous. Don’t waste your money here, you’ll be disappointed ♀️

Went after our Costco trip. Love the garlic chicken and steak plates. Hawaii has great local food. I’ve loved this place for years. Everytime that I come home from NM I make it a point to get a plate from here. I’ve never been disappointed by this place 10 years running.
Tonight I tried the mixed steak and roast chicken plate as usual it was delicious and filling. Fast and friendly staff and service. Always made to order. Some good.

Decided to try here for lunch…try something different, plus I was hungry after grocery shopping. HI Steaks is located inside the Pearl City Foodland, so I found it to be very convenient. The kitchen can easily be seen from the counter and the kitchen looked organized and clean. I ended up ordering a Kalua Pork & Steak plate ($18.99) and substituted the rice for greens (+$1.99), also ordered a build your own bowl ($16.00), with Garlic Chicken. I was a bit bummed that they charged extra for substituting the rice with greens, but oh well. My order came quickly, only waited for a couple of minutes, and then I found an open table at the dining area adjacent to HI Steaks. The portion size of the plate & bowl was reasonable for the price. Steak was good, tender and cooked perfectly for me. Garlic chicken was seasoned well, not too overpowering. The sides were all good too. Overall I really enjoyed the food and would definitely come here again!

Love the steak plate. Love the shrimp plate. Love the combo steak and shrimp plate. Love the greens they use for the salad with Italian dressing. Potato salad is always fresh and to die for.

Worst service these 2 had no clue … for a pound of steak ala carte cmon need cutting lessons then she puts my finish plate on the counter and proceeds to take a order wth… I’m standing right here your only customer waiting until another customer walks up then you decide to proceed to put my plate down next to the register and take a order without handing me my 20 min order for a med rare one pound steak.

Ordered crispy chicken plate. It’s good, but unfortunately they cook chicken without taking feathers off. It’s understandable that meat & poultry vendors do leave some feathers on chicken, but what’s worrisome is Hi Steak allows this to persist because it’s the same in Kailua

Went to go place my order, not greeting or anything. Stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to take my order, just for the lady to come up to me and tell me the grill was off. She literally turned it off while I was waiting to order. Had they taken my order in a timely manner, I could’ve gotten my food before the grill was turned off. Terrible service.

Came here to pick up an online order, girl at counter would not help and told me to go to the cashier that had a bunch of people crowded at the cashier, no clear line to stand. Then after waiting several minutes to get help from the cashier. She told me my order wasn’t ready and I’d have to wait even longer for my order. Terrible customer service and inefficiency among the staff.

Their steak fried rice…is not fried like it should its white rice with some kind of teriyaki sauce I think and no steak in it I know becausewhen I got it you could see the white rice …better off just getting your food with the white rice it comes with not worth the almost $4 extra for it. Their sides…yea no not good at all. They got rid of the ONLY GOOD THING in their menu which was the chicken katsu sandwich…that was literally AMAZING. but they no longer have it (although its in their menu still) they’ve discontinued it…go somewhere else. Also, do not go late in the evening…you get hard and old food.
