Good food. I got the Chopped Cheese sandwich, which was very tasty. My wife got the double cheeseburger. She said it was great.
The seating though, in the main part of the restaurant, the seating is metal chairs. Just plain metal, no cushions. The shape of them makes the two metal support rails dig into my hips. They are too low for the table, so I felt like I was 5 and eating at the big people table. The booths have cushions, but are so worn out that they were not comfortable. The front of the restaurant has chairs with cushions that were comfortable, so we sat there.
The fries are heavily seasoned. The menus just says”Fries”, not seasoned fries. Ours were so heavily seasoned as to be inedible, so I asked if we could just get unseasoned fries, which they did. Those were fine. I wish places that only offered seasoned fries would just call them seasoned fries on the menus. I can’t know they will be seasoned since that is not the standard everywhere, and I’m not a fan of the seasoning. Plain salt and call it a day or call them seasoned fries.
Our two meals, with a glass of tea, was $37, which seems pricey.
To sum up: good sandwiches/burgers, uncomfortable seating except in the front.

I love this place. It has such a good vibe and such good food. The ingredients are good quality, my order is always right, the food is always so delicious. I usually get their chef creations because they are such creative burger recipes. (Try the Sit. Stay. Slay. Just trust me on this one) I hate Kirkwood but I tough it out just to get some good eats from here. And don’t forget your cream pie!

Always a great tasting experience. Great burgers and sides. I like this and Clayton location. The customer service needs improvement in both places. I HOPE THE OWNER OF THESE LOCATIONS take note. Its a turn off someone who is taking our order has no smile or customer service when I’m spending average $70 a ticket.

First time trying…. burgers and shakes are delicious but for the price to receive like 10 fries is absolutely crazy! Its prices are definitely comparable to most burger places but to get that little tiny fry will keep me going somewhere else. Shellys burgers and five guys burgers are just as good.

I got a double burger with cheese and the beef had a very good flavor and the bun was good the pickles and lettuce were good, too. The fries were sprinkled with salt and cayenne pepper. There was no indication on the menu that the fries had anything on them but salt, it just said fries, and it listed the prices small medium large. I don’t like cayenne pepper, I don’t know why a restaurant would just arbitrarily put cayenne pepper on fries, you’re taking a chance that people might not like it or that people might be allergic to it. My husband took the fries back and said we’d like fries without seasoning and they said we season all our fries, and my husband said but you don’t list that on the menu, you don’t say seasoned fries you just say fries. They brought me out some plain fries, now the problem is there’s no salt or pepper on the table. What diner does not have salt and pepper on the table? So I had non-salted french fries that I had to put ketchup on for some taste for the fries. The fries were good, they were okay but I don’t care for ketchup but I didn’t have any salt to put on the fries. The only other thing that I would have liked would have been utensils, either pick them up at a station with the ketchup and mustard and napkins or have them on the tables because not everybody likes to eat their burgers with their hands.

The food is good but that’s about all I can say is good. The staff is less than friendly and the food takes a long time for what it is. Our food came out in 3 different deliveries all of which were at least 5+ minutes apart and after waiting 30+ min. While they were busy it was very strange that other tables which had all ordered after us and ordered the same special of the day got their food in between our deliveries. My son decided to get a basic chocolate shake towards the end of the meal. By this time the restaurant had cleared out and was not nearly as busy with just a few tables with people at them. He ordered and we waited and waited and waited. We bused our table and continued to wait. Meanwhile the staff (which we were seated very close to the kitchen) stood around and socialized. One young woman began to finally make a few shakes while other staff continued to come up and socialize causing her to stop to talk and cease making the shakes. A patron walked up to give the staff a handful of Mardi Gras beads and with their food handling gloves on they excepted the beads and then all stood around untangling them and then putting them on all with the gloves still on and never changed. At this point we stood up completely standing in front of the pick up counter. Finally the young woman who had started to make the shakes 20min prior looked over and said “did you need something?” My son replied that he was waiting on a chocolate shake. She grabbed the blender cup which had been sitting there the whole time and poured it into a cup about 2/3 of the way full (it was nearly totally melted by this time) and topped the rest of the glass off with 3in of whip cream to fill it. Very disappointing experience overall and while we have been here before, it will be a long time before we return again.

I was out shopping and decided to get a late lunch at White Castle. The wait was too long, so I tried the nearby Sonic drive-thru. The wait there was also too long, so I decided to just head back to my daughter’s home. On the way, I saw a Hi Point restaurant that my daughter had previously mentioned had the bestest burgers in St Louis. She was indeed correct. The smash-burger-style hamburger had crispy edges and a perfectly cooked center. You get to order exactly what you want on the burger, and they served me an outstanding strawberry milkshake to wash it down. I also enjoyed a small side of chili. A great lunch overall, and I can’t wait to return. Maybe tomorrow. UPDATE-1: Returned the next day for lunch and had a double cheeseburger with jalapenos, lettuce, and onions. Terrific lunch. My wife had a hot dog and mac and cheese. I sampled both and can recommend them. UPDATE-2: We spent the last two lunches determining whether the burgers at Culver’s or Hi-Pointe were better. The verdict is in. Hi-Pointe is definitely better. However, what happened to Big Boy (alias Hi Boy) figure next to the camper as you enter?
