Easily the BEST (and most reasonably priced!!) and on the UWS!! I love in the neighborhood and I’ve been to EVERY restaurant on the block. This one is THE best. Service and staff are incredible, great energy and vibes inside. Food is delicious, drinks are overflowing and the people that work there are IRL genuine & kind. to. you. Top notch UWS pub. Extensive menu. We stick to traditional pub type food (burgers, chicken, fries), but they also have sushi and raw bar which someone said was good. Well priced food and drinks. Decent beer selection. Cocktails excellent and they don’t skimp. Energetic vibe but not crazy loud. Pleasant and efficient service. My go to UWS informal dining spot. (And I don’t live in the neighborhood.)

Last evening, was a Michelin star ⭐️ experience for this diner and everybody else lucky enough to be seated in this crowded superb venue from the moment you enter this storied eatery!
What an amazing interaction with the entire team.Greeted by Manager Elsa and the smiling hostess Julissa. The server’s top-tier attention to detail at the table covered every aspect of service. The busser’s were all prepared & present for the busy night ahead!
Of course, the entire production’s success is led by the veteran, 30 plus year owner & Conductor Earl.
Well done!

Please don’t come here all the time and crowd me out just because I left a great review. The food is reliably delicious. Whatever they are doing in the kitchen, its working and appreciated! Servers seem to be from a place where they care about you. Not the most NY way to do things for food service staff in a local neighborhood place. Greatly appreciated! So many great places to eat and have a drink on the UWS but Hi Life is consistent and reliable.

Had brunch with my girls here. Food was def tasty, we all finished our meals. We had the blt, burgers,fries and the grilled chicken sandwich with pesto. Our server was great! We have to come back and try the breakfast menu.

My dinner companion ordered the Meatloaf and Potatoes.
We shared a slice of the Sour cream Apple Walnut Pie (from the Little Pie Company is as decadent now as it was the first time I tried it decades ago!)

Was visiting NYC for the day and decided to see how far I could walk. Walked from 34th way up to 105th. Was too tired to walk back so I stopped in this place for dinner and drink. It was late summer so most ppl sat outside. Not me, food was good. Had flank steak, pomm fries and cream spinach. Only reason it didn’t get 5 starts is because the person at the door was being that “person” assuming I didn’t belong there. Dining while black has it’s own special set of experiences. I never get upset, because I’m here for an experience and you work here. With no health care or dental. I tip well on purpose.

It’s Saturday the 21st of February 2026. Im a bartender and a former restaurant owner. I walked in there’s 9 people at the bar I had to wait so long—- just to ask for a beer because this curly haired brunette was to busy talking to her friends at the other end. Then a man walks in they know each other and she goes directly to him to serve him. I’m pissed I’m tired from work she is a horrible bartender I’d fire her immediately. I asked for a lager beer bottle asking what she has she grabs a menu slaps it on the bar saying here then walks away. Don’t go to this place when she’s working it’s a horrible experience.
