Hey Sugar is a gem, they have so many kinds of gummies and candy that will take you back to your childhood, crazy sodas if your feeling adventurous, and their ice cream is unbeatable in the US. I haven’t stepped foot in a Braums or Coldstone in years, but we go to Hey Sugar for ice cream year-round. And if you want to enjoy it at home just ask for a pint and stick it in the freezer!

Most amazing place on earth!!!
Such a fun candy store! The workers were kind and friendly! They let the kids wander around and try samples of ice cream! We got some unique candies and enjoyed the fun atmosphere! We loved the town of Denison! I can’t wait to go back!

The place is incredible. So clean and beautiful and organized and the options are endless. Unfortunately, (for me) I am now addicted to the vegan key lime pie ice cream. So they can’t get rid of me now. Please go. Take your family. Take yourself.

Three years ago, we started a new tradition of taking our six grands to Hey Sugar as one of our Christmas activities. We give them an envelope with money to shop. The atmosphere takes me back to my childhood days with all the “back in the day” candy, ice cream, and soda pop they offer. We have a blast! They look forward to this unique Downtown Denison experience!

Locals, beware of the new management.
My family has been regular customers at Hey Sugar, often multiple times a week, since they opened on Main Street in Denison. The candy and ice cream selection is the best around, but it was the environment, and the WONDERFUL staff, that made Hey Sugar a fun place to be. That has recently changed.
I am incredibly disappointed to learn that our beloved Hey Sugar has fallen under new management, who owns other Hey Sugar locations, and her business practices are reflecting gross corporatism over what was once a friendly, small town business that loves and is engaged with their local community.
The new management + owner, the daughter of the great man who formerly managed this Hey Sugar location, abruptly fired all of the existing staff, whom we have grown to know and love, and who always provided stellar service. It is sad that an out of towner has come in to tank a small business that is so loved by the local community, and I hope the community responds by taking their hard earned money to another local business more worthy of our support over this “new and improved” Hey Sugar.

Absolutely loved the in house made ice cream and waffle cones!!! The theming is so cute and classic. Highly recommend sampling some ice cream first because they are so good!

What’s not to love! Walk in and feel like a kid again! Yummy everything! Candy you haven’t seen since you were a kid and the ice cream is delicious and made by the owner! Great place to have on main Street. They offer a variety of crazy sodas, candy by the pound, homemade icecream, spiked adult icecream and a chocolate showcase with truffles and other yummy options! Lots of fun stuff in here!
If you are ever looking for a unique candy this is the place to go! My personal favorite are the chocolate covered Kona and Expresso beans!
