Very average, standard food. You won’t be devastated with disappointment, but you’ll probably forget what it tasted like a few days later.
I prefer the taco bowl, with the crunchy shell. Good ratio of lettuce to the more important, tasty ingredients like the black beans, cheese, and pico de gallo. Thankfully, the lettuce they use is leafy; they don’t stick you with the bitter hard white parts of an iceberg lettuce head. Out of all their dressings, the creamy cilantro works best here.
I used to use MealPass (now MealPal), where this was one of the favorites. I ended up not wanting to go to Herreras because they were often extremely busy, and the MealPal customers just push it over the top.
You’ll probably spend between $8-$10, which is about average for lunch in Boston.

I haven’t been to this place in a couple of years and the food was still excellent! Even when there was a mistake on my order the manager corrected it immediately! He thought I wanted a bean taco when I wanted a beef taco so he gave me a side of the beef and sauce and I got to add that into my taco experience I told him how much I appreciated it and to let him know I was one of those virtual Google map guides he appreciated when I told him I’d give him a a high mark on my visit I intend to do that and I recommend this place! This was my first time eating here. We did take-out. I had the veggie burrito. I have to say, what a surprise! It was full of a variety of veggies, white & yellow rice, and black beans. The quality and quantity was excellent. I couldn’t believe the amount of veggies were included. Looking forward to my next order!

I come for lunch regularly and Herrera’s is fast, fresh, inexpensive, and consistent. The food is not heavy or greasy and the portions are substantial. I love their soups on cold rainy days, though their most popular item is obviously the burrito. Highly recommend for a quick and satisfying bite downtown!

Their soup is phenomenal! Burritos are too. I personally wasn’t a fan of their salsa. Tasted like canned tomatoes. To each their own tho, I’m sure others may like it. I will still go back for the stuff i did like!

Had the fish tacos and they were delicious. Couldn’t use the sauce that came with. It was way too spicy. Wish it came with a warning or had a none spicy option. Other than the sauce, i enjoyed my tacos.

I was staying nearby for a quick trip to Boston from NYC and was so shocked by how good this place was when I dropped by for lunch! So delicious, had the best tortilla soup of my LIFE here, and it was only around $7… Also tried a bit of the chicken burrito, so flavorful!! Thank you guys

Im content. Not sure if the hot sauce in my burrito was hot but the food was still great. My burrito had good heat and flavor and spice but it didnt burn my mouth out in an uncomfortable way which i was kinda in the mood for. Still gonna give it 5 stars because it was tasty and i still recommend the food.
