Really tasty and big size portions. The food came in less than 10 min and was rich in flavour. The stir fry veggies with beef and noodles, the chicken curry, duck with fried rice. Definitely recommend!

Stopped for dinner after a day of touring. We had the curry with chicken and the fried rice noodles, with rice paper rolls as a starter. Food was good and servings were quite large. We preferred the curry over the noodles (which were quite plain). Servers were nice and friendly. Decent place for a meal in a busy tourist area. Vibes on the patio are great!

If you’re gluten-free — especially celiac — avoid Herr Dang in Potsdam at all costs.
We tried to have a nice meal, but from the first question things went downhill fast. No English, no real communication, and absolutely zero understanding of gluten-free needs. The menu is also super misleading, with items that look safe but aren’t, and nothing is clearly marked.
The worst part?
The waitresses actually tried to offer my wife dishes that contain gluten — even after we clearly explained she has celiac. Not only is that careless, it’s dangerous. Instead of checking or making sure, they just pushed whatever was convenient for them.
On top of that, the overall service felt cold and impatient, as if we were annoying them by trying to avoid a medical issue.
Potsdam has many great places that know how to treat guests with respect and basic awareness.
Herr Dang is unfortunately not one of them. Celiacs and gluten-free diners — stay far away.

At no point was it stated that payment was accepted cash only. The waiter also failed to inform me of this restriction when presenting the menu. Only after I had selected my order, when he returned to take it, did he state that payment was possible exclusively in cash and instructed me to withdraw money from the bank across the street.
Given that foreign bank cards incur withdrawal fees of up to 50%, this effectively forces the customer to lose a substantial and unjustifiable amount of money. In an era where electronic payments are standard worldwide, such a practice is not merely outdated but raises serious concerns. If this is not a step backward, it can reasonably be perceived as a deliberate attempt to avoid transparent and lawful taxation.

We tasted Great Food at Herr Dang ♥️. The portion they offered was pretty good and they served a full glass of drinks. Staff were very friendly and served food within 10 minutes of ordering. Highly recommend for tasty asian and Vietnamese food ✨

I didn’t expect there to be amazing Vietnamese food in the little town of Potsdam, but being from Vietnam, this food is the closest that I’ve had while backpacking through Europe that has been able to remind me of home. I got the Phở, the Fried Sushi Roll 1, and the Gebacken Hähnchen, and was shocked to find the food to be so authentic, especially better than my home in the United States. The noodles were just as fresh as Vietnam’s and the Phở broth was just as savory as it was tangy. The sushi rolls were fried to perfection, and the chefs didn’t overdo it on sauces like other places.
Not only was the food delightful, but the service was even better. Being from the U.S., it was nice being able to laugh in a conversation in my native language, but what amazed me more was how they were to do that with Potsdam locals in German. They are very attentive and caring. I hope you give this place a try – they are worth it!

We ate here. There are many gluten free options and the service did know about it and confirmed it’s without gluten when serving.
The food was very tasty. Particular i was positively surprised with the tartar which is listed as an entrance. It brings a lot of fish and can be eaten as main dish.
