Ordered beans and cheese burrito and pork quesadilla. Wow, surprisingly good. The burrito got better with every bite. The pork quesadilla was good from the first bite. You know how sometimes you make some cup ramen and ask “what is it that makes this so satisfying?” That’s how I feel about this place.

The vegan tamale was incredible as I am sure their other tamales would be. The housemade margaritas- perfect. The rice however is bland and this is coming from a Texan. Garlic, salt and some chiles would go a long way in the cooking process. Other than that I will totally come back!

The food was not what I expected, I was hoping for something more authentic. I do appreciate taking Mexican cuisine and giving it your own twist, however, at Hermosa’s they have given center stage to raw garlic. I love garlic in all it’s forms but three hours after, I can still taste the bitterness of it. It was so much and so everywhere.

Hermosa for authentic Mexican food here in Friday Harbor. New Bar is upstairs! Check it out. Look for sidewalk sign as entry is tucked in a pedestrian alley. Food is great and service is always friendly at Hermosa. Did I mention the new bar upstairs, got to love it. The island got a little bigger with Hermosa’s great food and atmosphere.
