I’ve always tried to rate a restaurant for what it is within its category. And if there was ever a place that screamed, “Come on in y’all for some good old fashioned Southern home cooking”, this is it. It’s a modified buffet style where you tell them what you want and they plop down a generous portion of it on to your plate. Serve yourself at the salad bar though.

All the usual dishes you’d expect on an old fashioned southern table: from fried chicken to ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice, mixed vegetables, green beans, stewed cabbage, biscuits, peach cobbler etc. They do what they do, and it’s done right. You ain’t gonna leave hungry, or broke. But you will leave with a smile, an invitation to come back, and the memory of one of the better old-school meals you may have had in the south.

Just visited this place Thursday while on a day trip with my Mom and Aunt and I must say that I’m glad we did! The food was out of this world! Home cooking at it’s best and the staff was so warm, kind, and inviting. We felt right at home. The epitome of down home southern charm. We’re planning on another day trip soon just to eat here again. Thank you for your hospitality. Oh, and that homemade Mac and cheese…the best I’ve ever had!

This is an institution in Rabun county and they never disappoint, open for lunch only. Kinda miss the all you can eat buffet but still worth every penny. Great homestyle country food and best fried chicken..

Down home Southern cooking. Everything was excellent. Seating, Service and Food. The fried chicken is “like my Granny used to make”.
I highly recommend giving the food here a try.

Went there today. Staff is super nice

The star of the show is absolutely the chicken soooo good and the desserts.

There is a buffet on Sunday but during weekdays it is 1 meat and 2 Vegs for $8

This is exactly the kind of place I look for when I am traveling. REAL country cooking served by REAL down to earth folks. The food was just like grandma used to make and the portions were huge. They told me that the fried chicken was the best in the world. After trying it…I think they might just be right. The homemade beef stroganoff was fantastic too. All the sides we tried were delicious, and the salad bar was fresh and tasty. Do yourself a favor…skip the chain restaurants and give Henry’s a try. If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault.

The food was amazing. The waitress was awesome. The building is old but don’t let the outside fool you. It’s one of those hometown places you have to try… And the peach cobbler… Make you slap yo momma!!! Lol
