If I could have given zero stars I would have. My usual restaurant, Lucky Kitchen is closed on Mondays. I decided that because it was on my way home and convenient I would ignore the previous bad reviews and try for myself. BIG MISTAKE! I spent $17 on TRASH. I mean I took a few bites and threw the food in the trash. It tasted like old metal pans. I will never ever order from this place again. I didn’t even bother calling to get my money back. I’m sure they have had many people try before and would only be difficult. Time is money, don’t waste either of yours on this place.

I try every spot in town when I move and I gotta say this is the best Sesame Chicken in New Haven. They don’t skimp on the Sesame seeds, and the chicken to breading ratio is just right. Super pleasant people as well. Crab rangoons are also to die for. Overall every time I’ve gone it’s been a great experience so stop reading this and go order from them.

I used door dash. The food was hot upon arrival. But the food was bland. The dumplings were the standard frozen brand they bought from a wholesaler. The fried rice was bland, and the general tso’s was not spicy.

The lady taking orders was very rude and rushed me my entire order . She claimed they were very busy but their phone wasn’t ringing and it was just me and another customer there . Not only did she rush me while putting my order together but she got mad when I asked her for a receipt saying “aawww come on man I’m too busy “ . $74.05 you should’ve printed my receipt with NO PROBLEM!

Please don’t listen to any other people who say the food is good here. Because it’s straight from restaurant depot. The majority of the food was so bland that an unsalted saltine cracker has more taste to it than this food. So disappointed!

Best Chinese food in West Haven. About the 3rd time I have ordered the same dish and I must say, they are consistent! Fresh rice with vegetables. The boneless ribs are tender and not hard. Fried chicken wings, lo mein. All great. My lil one loves picking out the fresh peas before eating the rest of the food. I will continue to purchase from them.

Pleasantly surprised by this hole-in-the-wall take out. A craving hit on a Monday night and my normal place was closed. Nothing was too greasy, and everything was fresh and hot. The sesame chicken wasn’t all breading and had a good flavor, and the Singapore mei fun had a nice spice to it. I’ll definitely be adding Golden Island to my regular list!

First and last time I’ll ever order from this place. The food was not edible. Tasted like there was lead paint in the General’s chicken. The chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce had a very similar bad flavor. I feel awful about this but I had to throw the food away. I mean even when you get a restaurant that’s not so good, but they get close enough for it to pass. The flavors were not even somewhat close to any version of either of these dishes.

Awful! Awful! Awful! The General Tso’s had some kind of disgusting sauce on it not sure what it was but it definitely was not the normal sauce that comes on it from other places. The lo mein noodles had such a bad flavor I ended up throwing them all out. I would never go here again and I would never recommend.
