The old guy behind the bar is a complete jerk.
My buddy probably said thank you 10 times and he wouldn’t even look up. Let alone say you’re welcome. The way he kept throwing his pen down. The way he tore his receipts out of his ticket book. We asked him a couple questions including”How you doin’ today?” He would not answer, he just stared. He was angry because he woke up another day. It used to always be crowded in there. There were a total of eight people when we walked in. The group that left just before us were not happy either. Now I know why. We Left him the tip that he deserved and that is not us. Never going there again. Too bad because it used to be a fun stop on the trails. The rest of our trip was awesome. The other places we visited were awesome. The people were awesome. Trails were best I can remember. Stay away from Henry’s at lunch time!

Food is to die for! Truly a gem of a place if for nothing else but the history and atmosphere. We live close and will go back. Try the garlic bread! Burgers are scrumptious! Root beer on tap! Yum!

So if you’re into fancy kept up places, this is not for you, but if you love hole in the wall, great food and a little not fixed up, this is it! We were told to come here by a gentleman at adventure mine and it was very worth it. The food was outstanding. The homemade margaritas are awesome!
One guy. He’s your bartender. Your cook and everything else. The food was awesome

Can’t comment on the food, we didn’t order. Service from the female bartender working wasn’t good, basically acted like she was annoyed you were there. Ordered a top shelf rye whiskey neat and had several fruit flys in the glass. Bar is cool with many years of history in it just couldn’t get past the poor service. I will comment the male bartender was decent.

We were told the food here was great and it did not disappoint. Bartender/cook was very friendly. It was cool to read about the history of the place while we waited. It’s nothing fancy – it’s an old-fashioned bar in a tiny town – but we enjoyed our burgers and fries.

Only had some simple salad here, but the place is full of history and wonderful decor!

I have been coming to Henry’s for years and years when I visit family in Ontonagon. It may not be like it was 10 years ago, but if you want good food and a good drink, this it the place to go. I was in the area for a week, and because I was on vacation, we ate out a lot, and Henry’s had the best burger by far (sorry Syl’s and Konteka).

There is usually a Friday night Fish Fry buffet which is awesome. Unfortunately the owner’s wife is sick so that has been put on hold for awhile. Hope she gets better soon. The hamburgers and ham sandwiches were wonderful. The beer is cold and the food is good. It is worth the trip.

My family tries to get as many people together once a year and visit Henry’s on a Fri/Sat night. We usually will pack the place with everyone else and it’s a great time! You eat til you can’t possibly eat anymore. Tons of different options and all are very tasty! Not a place to go if you want a lot of personal space but I personally love the environment.

Great food. Locals are friendly so are the bartenders. Place is usually busy but if you don’t mind waiting you’re going to get good food. They have build your own pizzas on Wednesday nights and they have an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord on Friday and Saturday nights. Everything is a home-cooked
