Had a great first experience and decided to come back a second time. It did not disappoint! The server was very kind and took the time to explain the menu, which I really appreciated. I love the variety on the menu. There’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming.

A very nice evening overall, this was my 3rd yearly visit to this restaurant, it’s becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. The hostess was very nice and welcoming and remembered my name when I left after over 2 hours (very impressed by that). The restaurant itself is exquisite, the waiter could have smiled a bit more, but the place was packed so I guess he had quite a lot on his plate (no pun intended). Yes, the food is pricey, but I knew what I was getting myself into as I had done my homework by looking up the menus online. The portion were adequate and the presentation was very nice. My only issues are that waiter could have been a bit less cold, one of the course was forgotten (but that was corrected immediately) and I wasn’t offered any tea or coffee with the dessert course.

Henri at Hotel Birks was a beautiful experience. The ambiance is warm, intimate, and thoughtfully designed—calm, elegant, and inviting without feeling formal. The service truly stood out: friendly, attentive, and genuine, especially at the bar, where everything felt relaxed and well cared for. The food was excellent, but it was the atmosphere and service that made the night feel special. A place that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Cool place as it’s right by Philips square and connected to the hotel. The ceiling height is super high so creates a really nice atmosphere inside. Ordered the French onion soup, duck and the cuit chocolate. The soup was perfect for a cold night, would’ve been better if it was cheesier but still very good otherwise. The duck was great, a modest half serving was enough to leave room for dessert which was the cuit chocolate… super rich and sweet so you might want to split this dessert. Really nice place to dine out with a great ambiance.

The salmon for entree went over the expectations.

Beautiful restaurant. Typical French bistro menu. The salmon duo rillettes was very tasty. The chicken with morel sauce was nice and juicy. The Paris Brest is one of the best we’ve had.

We travelled from a few hours away and had been planning this 24hrs getaway for quite some time. We had only wanted to stay within the hotel grounds and are absolutely delighted that we did.
We got to Henri’s at 7pm as per our reservation and were seated immediately without any issues.
The hostess was friendly and also recognized us from earlier in the day.
We sat a the bar which was clean and lively.
Started off the evening with a bottle of wine, followed by escargots and a few other mains. The meals were spectacular but above everything was the service we received from Peter (what a hard working individual) and Dave (one of the best servers I’ve had) was like no other. They took care of us like they had known us for years.
Thanks to those two, we will be back again and will make sure we spread the word that Henri’s is the place to be in downtown Montreal.
