Small menu but everything we got was good. Bright interior and friendly service. The restaurant was nearly empty when we went for dim sum. Lots of items on the menu were out of stock but we enjoyed what we ordered. Cucumber salad and chili oil wontons were stand outs. Soup dumplings were solid but one had broken in cooking. Karaage chicken was bright and crunchy. Boa buns were super tender. Would recommend as a great dim sum option in Rittenhouse.

Heng Feng is serving quite possibly the best dim sum in the city right now. The crab pork soup dumplings were some of the best I’ve ever had — juicy, flavorful, and with a wrapping that was juuuust thick enough to securely contain all of the delicious soupy filling. The crystal shrimp dumplings were surprisingly unique — there is a subtle sesame flavor to the wrap that I’ve never experienced with this dish, they also use whole shrimp for the filling. The garlic cucumber salad was everything I wanted it to be, and went so quickly that I forgot to get a picture of it. Oops!
After demolishing our dim sum spread we followed it up with the Shrimp Ho Fun, a perfectly prepared and incredibly well balanced thick noodle dish — delicious, no notes!
The only thing we had that wasn’t super memorable from a flavor/texture standpoint was our dessert, the sweet custard buns. They weren’t bad, just not the best I’ve had. That said they were 100% the most ADORABLE custard buns I’ve ever had!
Mentioned at the top but it bears repeating, the level of service was exceptional. Fine dining level, in fact. Given how great our overall experience was here it was shocking that this place wasn’t more crowded on a Friday night at peak dinner hours. They must not have had a chance to grow a neighborhood following yet since it’s fairly newly opened. Highly recommend getting in while it’s still easy to grab a table!!!

Went twice, approximately 2 months apart. Ordered the same dish both times (Mongolian beef). The inconsistency of their food quality was pretty striking. The first time, it was pretty decent. The second time, it was… bad. Fried rice was soggy rice drenched in soy sauce and had nothing else in it (no meat, eggs, scallions, etc.). Don’t think I’ll be going back.

I placed a simple rake out order with Sam at counter. Restaurant was empty and there was no one waiting ahead of me. Waited 40 minutes for my order which normally takes 15 minutes. I asked several times the reason for delay. Sam had no empathy and could care less about my concerns.
Instead he spent over 30 minutes talking with non customers who were pedaling a new energy supplier. I complained to him about the terrible service and he didn’t have the courtesy of even
apologizing. The egg rolls and pork dumplings were cold when I opened the order at home.

was my fav chinese place in philly. Despite the premium prices, food used to be fresh, meat was juicy. Just ordered via doordash 12/5 and the general tso chicken was mainly breading. The little meat there was wasn’t juicy but felt dry and overal the breading felt reheated. At the premium prices this place charges ($18 for general tso. Note this is dinner, so half the container is meat, half is rice. Plus ok soup), they shouldn’t be skimping on meat or reheating cancelled orders

They are consistently inconsistent. Sometimes very good, but other times bad. We order here at least once a month. Tonight was even worse than a couple of weeks ago. General Tso’s tasted like pine, fried rice was boiled rice with food coloring, egg rolls were greasy and the oil tasted OLD!

Got roast duck over rice for take out. The platter cane with one boiled egg, bok Choi, and a non-authentic spring roll. With taxes, it came to $16. This price is outrageous given the platter came with just 4 pieces of duck! The duck itself was good, but the veggies, rice, and spring roll was sub-par. Rice was hard, veggies were bland, and the spring roll barely had filling (basically a roll you’d get from Panda Express)

Came to eat in restaurant and while waiting for my food the server started handling the trash and transferring it to a bigger can (pressing it down). Then served my food. The food its self was cold. The duck was just all fat. I was just done!!!!

Employee here throws his garbage on the street outside the restaurant. I thought he dropped something so picked it up and handed it back, and he again threw it on the sidewalk when I turned around. The garbage bin inside is 2 feet away. Need employee training to respect our neighborhood. Sidewalk is littered and gross outside the restaurant.
